Strengthening Education in the Digital Era, FTI UNDIRA Holds an Online Pedagogy Workshop to Solidify an Inclusive Education System

Jakarta, 19 February 2026 – Technological transformation has brought significant benefits across various sectors. One of the sectors experiencing the greatest impact is education, where technology has enabled increasingly interactive and systematic learning processes for students.

In an effort to enhance current teaching methods while adapting to the integration of information technology in today’s educational landscape, the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics (FTI) of Universitas Dian Nusantara organized the Online Learning Pedagogy Workshop: Towards Impactful Education through Online Learning, held at the UNDIRA Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta on Saturday, 14th February 2026.

The workshop, which also served as a revitalization of educational methods, was enthusiastically attended by 70 FTI lecturers, both onsite and online. The keynote speaker was Paulina Pannen, Co-founder of the Indonesia Cyber Education Institute and Professor at Universitas Terbuka. She previously served as an Expert Staff to the Minister for Academic Affairs at the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education and is widely recognized as one of the key figures in developing distance education concepts in Indonesia’s digital era, advancing a quality and inclusive education system.

Mr. Magito, S.E., M.M., Academic Director of UNDIRA, emphasized that the workshop, themed “Towards Impactful Education through Online Learning,” highlights the importance of understanding contemporary teaching and learning techniques as a key to successful educational transformation.

With the transformation of education in this digital era, we must be able to position ourselves appropriately, both as educators and as students. Through this pedagogy segment, we hope to find a balance that revitalizes the teaching and learning process, ultimately enabling effective knowledge transfer,” he stated.

The Vice Rector I of UNDIRA, Mr. Ir. Margono Sugeng, M.Sc., explained that learning transformation in higher education is both a national policy mandate and a global demand. He further noted that online learning is no longer positioned as an alternative, but rather as an integral part of the higher education system.

The implementation of online learning must uphold principles of academic quality, ensure the achievement of graduate learning outcomes, and maintain relevance to the needs of industry and stakeholders. Well-developed online learning will also positively impact future accreditation assessment processes,” he remarked.

Therefore, online learning methods must be designed to be active, collaborative, and student-centered. Assessment is also expected to be authentic and transparent, with all learning processes properly documented within the academic system,” he added.

Mr. Margono Sugeng stressed that the workshop was not merely a professional development activity, but also part of strengthening academic policy at UNDIRA, particularly in standardizing the quality of online learning across all study programs.

Prof. Paulina Pannen emphasized that to achieve effective learning, the first crucial step is mapping the alignment between Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) and Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK). According to her, this mapping process must begin with a deep understanding of students’ characteristics as the primary target of instruction.

She further highlighted that adaptability in teaching methods is a key strategy for educators in the digital era, particularly to maintain students’ retention and comprehension. Therefore, lecturers need to design interactive learning experiences that create meaning and construct knowledge based on e-learning principles, utilizing varied modules through a multi-channel learning approach.

The pedagogy session concluded with an evaluation and presentation of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) and online learning modules by Prof. Paulina Pannen. Meanwhile, the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Mrs. Anita Ratnasari, M.T., and Informatics Engineering lecturer Mr. Muhammad Patria, S.T., MMSI, regarded the initiative reflected in the development of a Collaborative Online Learning LMS as a strategic step to support a more optimal learning process.
