Building an Energized Society: Empowering Energy and Human Resources

06 Desember 2024

In the era of Society 4.0 and increasingly complex global dynamics, building an adaptive and sustainable society has become a top priority. Energy is not limited to electricity and fuel but also encompasses human energy in the form of creativity, innovation, and human resource capabilities. Empowering energy and human resources is key to creating a society capable of holistically addressing future challenges.

Optimal utilization of energy and natural resources can drive local industrial growth, increase productivity, and stimulate innovation. The initial steps involve developing technology and managing natural resources to advance and empower communities. However, reliance on non-renewable energy and limited natural resources present pressing challenges that need to be resolved.

The strategic solution lies in developing and utilizing renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and water power. UBP Kamojang PLTP Gunung Salak, through its Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) in Gunung Salak, Bogor, has prioritized environmentally friendly and sustainable energy use. Beyond meeting corporate energy needs, UBP Kamojang PLTP Gunung Salak actively engages local communities through education and raising awareness about the importance of renewable energy.

Since 2016, UBP Kamojang PLTP Gunung Salak has consistently organized various environmental education programs and geothermal energy utilization outreach for communities surrounding the Gunung Salak National Park area. These initiatives aim to harmonize environmental sustainability with community productivity.

Building an energized society requires synergy among various stakeholders—government, private sector, academia, and local communities. Supportive policies, innovation incentives, and collaborative research are essential elements. UBP Kamojang PLTP Gunung Salak has also partnered with Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA), offering opportunities for research and internships. This collaboration fosters strategic advancements in energy management knowledge and strategies.

As part of its commitment to energy and community empowerment, UNDIRA will host a Campus Talk on December 5, 2024. This discussion will explore the successes and challenges of empowering communities through geothermal energy utilization in Gunung Salak while providing insights into the social and economic impacts of these initiatives.

Empowering energy aligned with human resource development forms the foundation for building a self-reliant and innovative society. Through collaborative efforts between industries, academia, and communities, we can create a sustainable future brimming with potential. Don’t miss the recap of UNDIRA’s Campus Talk for more in-depth discussions.
