LRPM UNDIRA Holds Coaching Clinic to Improve Chances of Securing BIMA Kemdiktisaintek Grants for Year 2026
Jakarta, November 15, 2025 - High-quality research is essential for achieving optimal results. As is widely recognized, grant funding from the Directorate of Research and Community Service, Directorate General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek)—provided either in-kind or in-cash—is a crucial prerequisite for conducting Research and Community Service (PkM).
However, securing funding from the BIMA Kemdiktisaintek grant scheme is not a simple process. There are numerous terms and conditions that must be fulfilled in the research proposal submission for funds to be awarded. In an effort to improve the chances of grant acceptance and the overall quality of research and PkM proposals, the Research and Community Service Institute of Dian Nusantara University (LRPM UNDIRA) organized a seminar titled "Coaching Clinic for Drafting 2026 BIMA Research and PkM Grant Proposals" on November 13, 2025, at the UNDIRA Tanjung Duren Campus in West Jakarta.
Mr. Basuki Toto Rahmanto, S.E., M.M., M.Ak., Head of the LRPM UNDIRA Bureau, stated that in the 2025 External Grant recap, a total of 12 research titles and 4 Community Service (PkM) titles successfully secured funding from the DIKTI (Directorate of Higher Education) Grant. “This achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of all our faculty members. We hope that through this Coaching Clinic, all participants will benefit from the material presented, leading to future improvements. Moreover, we hope this activity also creates space for collective improvement, enabling us to submit and successfully secure funding for more proposals,” he remarked.

The Vice-Rector IV of UNDIRA, Prof. Ir. Asri Nugrahanti, M.S., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng., who was also present, emphasized that continuous improvement is the key for every faculty member to get their research designs to pass the DIKTI Grant selection. “As the LRPM Bureau mentioned, the number of grant recipients this year is quite significant, and we, the leadership of UNDIRA, certainly appreciate this. Research and Community Service are two of the Tri Dharma (Three Pillars of Higher Education), which undoubtedly impact not only the academic world but also the University itself. Meaningful research certainly cannot be rushed,” she stated. “Indeed, scholarly works and activities are established criteria within the scope of faculty duties, and we truly hope—and are ready to assist in any way we can—to play a role in advancing the research of all our faculty members,” she continued.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Astri Rinanti, M.T., IPM., ASEAN, Eng., the speaker at the Coaching Clinic, added that in submitting a research proposal, there is one key aspect every faculty member must remember: how to make the reviewers "agree with and appreciate" the proposed research model and proposal. "Reviewers certainly do not have an extensive amount of time to conduct a comprehensive evaluation, given the limitations of time and manpower," she noted.
She explained that other critical factors include the Budget Plan (RAB) scheme and the guidelines for ensuring the research and PkM align with the objectives of the target partners. She further emphasized the importance of faculty members adhering to the standardized templates provided, as this not only facilitates the review process but also significantly increases the chances of approval.
Two other speakers, Dr. Winnie Septianti, S.T., M.Si., IPM., and Dra. Mustamina Maulani, M.T., also shared several "tips and tricks" for getting proposals accepted by DIKTI. They conveyed that eligibility is determined not only by the cited reference journals but also by the research team composition, which must comply with the provisions listed in the PkM BIMA 2026 system. Faculty members were advised to ensure that their proposed ideas are innovative, not imitative, aligning with the established research roadmap and the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through this Coaching Clinic, the Research and Community Service Institute (LRPM) UNDIRA demonstrates its commitment to supporting the continuous development of its faculty. Armed with the strategies and deep understanding shared by the speakers, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in both the quality and quantity of proposals submitted for the 2026 BIMA Grant. This success will ultimately not only represent individual achievement but also strengthen UNDIRA's contribution to implementing the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education).
