Creating and Producing Quality Content! Choosing the Right Content Type to Suit Your Needs and Interests

In the rapidly evolving digital era, content has become a crucial asset for Generation Z and Generation Alpha, enabling them to express themselves and socialize without time or space limitations. With high accessibility to social media, content exposure happens quickly, supported by strong personal branding. No wonder more and more content creators are emerging across various digital platforms.
However, in content production—whether visual or written—a precise strategy is needed to align with market demands. Content performance heavily relies on engagement levels, such as the number of likes, shares, and views over a certain period. Therefore, every piece of content must remain relevant to trending topics to capture the audience’s attention.
Beyond that, creators must consider content relevance over time—whether it will remain valuable or merely be popular for a short period. In the digital world, there are two main types of content: Evergreen Content and Trending Content.
If a creator aims to produce long-lasting, relevant content, Evergreen Content is the right choice. Conversely, if they want to gain short-term popularity, Trending Content is more suitable.
Evergreen Content refers to content that remains relevant regardless of time or trend shifts. The information contained in this type of content is always useful to readers, making it more enduring and valuable in the long run. Some examples of Evergreen Content include:
-
Interviews
-
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) content
-
How-To content (tutorials and guides)
-
Informational articles, such as research journals and various general educative contents
-
Reviews on Gadgets, Places of Interests, and foods (However it also depends on the degrees of place and FOMO of people, so it is more on in between mostly)
On the other hand, Trending Content focuses on currently popular topics that quickly attract public attention. This type of content leverages viral keywords—both on social media and SEO—to generate traffic and subscribers. However, it has a short lifespan, meaning it becomes outdated more quickly than Evergreen Content.
Examples of Trending Content include but are not limited to:
-
Challenge Content on various social medias such as Tiktok, YouTube or Instagram (usually a bit reckless but due to entertainment aspect it gains burst of popularity in short term)
-
Meme Contents (due to their relatability to the audience’s POV)
-
Product Launching Content and End of The Year Discounts Infographic (to attract loyal customers or certain niche consumers)
