In Efforts to Improve MSME Self-Management: UNDIRA and Wewo Kinarya Bangsa Conduct Evaluation of Beginner and Advanced Independent Workforce

Jakarta, November 7, 2024 — The Directorate of Student Affairs and Cooperation, along with the Directorate of Innovation and Business Development at Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA), held a Monitoring and Evaluation event for Beginner Independent Workforce (TKMP) and Advanced Independent Workforce (TKML) involving Wewo Kinarya Bangsa as a partner for the Ministry of Manpower's 2024 Program titled "Implementation of Self-Management for Mentoring Beginner and Advanced Independent Workforce in the Ministry of Manpower's 2024 Program."

This event was attended by 19 mentors from various provinces, comprised of instructors from several universities. Dian Nusantara University lecturers also participated, providing input and guidance for TKML and TKMP participants.

The event was opened by the Director of Student Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Norman Yachya, S.T., MM, MBA., representing the Rector and Vice Rectors II and III of Dian Nusantara University. In his remarks, Mr. Norman emphasized the importance of safety and adaptability for mentors facing field challenges.

He also highlighted that several obstacles were encountered in implementing the TKMP and TKML programs, including insufficient funds for mentors, criminal activities, and instances of extortion by irresponsible parties. For optimal program conditions, improvements in mentor safety and well-being are essential to facilitate effective work.

In the next session, Ms. Dyah Ekarini Ratnaningtyas, a speaker from Wewo Kinarya Bangsa, discussed Wewo’s role in supporting TKMP and TKML. She presented data on program achievements across various provinces, including the number of participants with marketing strategies, cash flow systems, Business Identification Numbers (NIB), and business plans.

She then presented data on the ongoing TKML program. Compliance with proposed business plans was highest in DKI Jakarta and West Java (100%), followed by Southeast Sulawesi (99%) and Central Sulawesi (93%). For ongoing businesses, DKI Jakarta and Southeast Sulawesi achieved 100%, West Java 99%, and Central Sulawesi 95%. The highest percentages of grant recipients were in Southeast Sulawesi (17%) and DKI Jakarta (15%).

Most grant funds were used in West Java (99%) and least in Central Sulawesi (2%). Through continued assistance, turnover increased, notably in West Java (41%), DKI Jakarta (15%), Central Sulawesi (5%), and Southeast Sulawesi (7%).

The Director of Independent Workforce Development at the Ministry of Manpower, Mr. Iwan Darmawan, SH, ME., expressed appreciation for this event and encouraged mentors to report any criminal activities or obstacles. Meanwhile, the Head of the Bekasi Work Expansion Center, Ms. Dini Antari W., highlighted the need to expedite funding for 317 pending cases.

The event concluded with Mr. Norman reaffirming the commitment to mentor safety and work effectiveness for improved business efficacy across Indonesia.
