Understanding literature is not merely through reading and reviewing literary works. Literary works are indeed a window to understanding both the thoughts and cultures of humanity. Through the study of various literary works, one has the opportunity to reflect on oneself and enhance their sense of humanity.

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, students of the English Literature Study Program at Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA) organized a Short Play and Monologue Performance. The event was held in the 6th-floor hall of the Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta.

This drama performance was conducted as a final assignment for the End of Semester Examination (UAS) in the English Drama course, taken by 5th-semester English Literature students. Ms. Maya Sekartaji, M.Hum., and Mr. Muhammad Sabil, M.Hum., were present to supervise the activities and the drama execution. Additionally, Mr. Todo Sibuea, M.Hum., the Head of the English Literature Study Program at UNDIRA, Ms. Putri Ayienda, M.Hum., and Mr. Wahyu Budi, M.Sas., were also present to witness this drama performance.

Through student collaboration, several script revisions, stage decoration creation, and rehearsal practices, the English Literature students successfully delivered the best performance. The students showcased their understanding of literature while implementing various dramatic elements they had learned and developed. This drama performance is hoped to inspire first-year students to be more interested in the world of literature and English Literature.

After the drama performance ended, all parties involved expressed positive impressions of the performance. Students not only had the opportunity to showcase their learning results but also conveyed memorable moral messages to all the audience.
