Cooperation Visit: UNDIRA Education Development and PTIQ University

May 30, 2024, Dian Nusantara University held a campus visit to PTIQ University Jakarta. On this occasion, Dian Nusantara University had the opportunity to exchange information and development strategies regarding educational programs, the systematics of the two campuses and how the emancipation of students in carrying out each activity in lectures.
On this occasion PTIQ University also provided some history of its campus development. At the beginning of the conversation, it was explained that the PTIQ campus is a campus that has basic values that prioritize religious education through PTIQ values which stands for TILAWAH; Teladan, Istiqomah, Loyal, Amanah, Wasathiyah, Adaptive, and Humanist. PTIQ University was established by the Ihya Ulumuddin foundation managed by K.H. Mohammad Dahlan, Prof. KH. Ibrahim Hosen, LML, and KH. Ahmad Zaini Miftach on April 1, 1971. The establishment of the campus was based on the need to fulfill the needs of the community for the teachings of the Qur'an, especially after the routine activities of the National Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) since 1968.
Although it has been an institution since 1971-2022, on January 17, 2023 PTIQ only officially became a University. This happened because of the lack of public emancipation, although PTIQ has run the Indonesia Mengaji Movement program, the program is only funded by the local government. Today PTIQ is heading towards some improvements, especially in the field of administration and the process of adding new study programs, especially in the field of science and technology according to the mandate of the rector of PTIQ University. This is due to the impossibility of teaching directions that only focus on the Koran integrated in Science but without a platform.
At the postgraduate level of PTIQ University itself, there are only four study programs, namely; S3 MPI with a newly opened status (Master of Islamic Education Management), S3 IAT (Al-Qur'an & Tafsir Science), S2 IAT (Al-Qur'an & Tafsir Science), S2 MPI (Master of Islamic Education Management), and S2 (ES) Master of Sharia Economics. In one of the education programs, students who graduate from the Master of Sharia Economics will get a certificate that can be used as career support as a consultant. This certificate is obtained after passing a test and becomes one of the requirements for the thesis exam.
In addition to the test to get a certificate, if students do not meet the moral values set by PTIQ standards then they must take the Qur'an reading test and it is mandatory. This is as stated in the principles and vision of PTIQ University, students are directed to follow the development of science, students must also understand what religion is as a philosophical value in order to develop the principles and character of students.
In the development of science and technology-based study programs, PTIQ University intends to collaborate in learning development with the help of Dian Nusantara University colleagues such as Mrs. Desi Ramayanti and Mr. Rengga Sendrian as the UNDIRA Student Affairs Bureau. It is hoped that with the upcoming collaboration, collaborative learning and mutual education establishment will be achieved.
After the discussion between UNDIRA and PTIQ University about the development of new science-based study programs for PTIQ University, the next discussion led to the optimization of E-learning and webinars in accordance with PTIQ regulations so that there was no disparity between each university. One of the online learning programs that is currently running and developing is 'Synergy About Faculty'. It is hoped that there will be collaboration between Dian Nusantara University and PTIQ University.
Dian Nusantara University also provides support to the enthusiasm for collaborative development cooperation with PTIQ University. Vice Rector III of Dian Nusantara University, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Hasanuddin Thoyieb, MM. advised the Student Affairs Bureau unit to be proactive in the development of technology in learning which refers to Google Workspace which is expected to be a means for students from both Universities, and with Google Space as a replacement for Zoom, all overall online learning activities will be monitored more effectively. Google Site and Google Chat are also the mainstay platforms for student correspondence, data submission and form filling.
From the development of cooperation between the two universities, it is expected that there will be a symbiotic mutualism where the two universities can learn from each other and support each other's learning systems. This development will also be very useful for PTIQ University in its development in diversifying its study programs which are expected to integrate science and technology. At the end of the event, the two universities gave each other souvenirs for the discussion of cooperation that resulted in positivity, and Dian Nusantara University gave a Wayang Plaque to PTIQ University as a souvenir.
