Jakarta, August 29, 2026 — As technology continues to reshape the modern workplace, the Career and Alumni Development Bureau (BPKA) of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) held a career webinar titled “Automation Career: New Skills, New Career Opportunities in the Digital Era” on Friday, August 28, 2026.

The webinar aimed to provide students with insights into emerging career opportunities and the skills needed to remain adaptable in the rapidly changing digital landscape. The event attracted 105 students and featured two digital industry professionals, Johan Indra Gunawan, Project Manager at IDStar, and Khalisa Rieke Devianti, Customer Success Associate at Kinobi.

Johan opened the session by highlighting how repetitive administrative tasks can consume two to four hours of an employee’s daily working time. Technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can address this challenge by automating routine processes through software-based “virtual robots.”

Through a live demonstration, Johan showed how an RPA bot could handle an employee reimbursement process, from reading emails and extracting receipt data to validating spending limits, uploading information to a financial system, and sending approval notifications automatically. He also highlighted practical applications for students, such as monitoring internship opportunities in real time.

Johan further emphasized that a career in automation is not limited to programming. Opportunities span both the Technical Path, including roles such as Automation Developer and Automation Engineer, and the Business/Process Path, which includes positions such as Automation Analyst and Automation Project Manager. With the growing availability of low-code/no-code platforms, entering the field is also becoming more accessible to beginners.

Meanwhile, Khalisa discussed how automation can enhance human productivity rather than replace human roles entirely. By handling repetitive tasks such as meeting notes, spreadsheet organization, and expense calculations, technology allows people to focus more on critical thinking, problem-solving, and empathy.

She also introduced the Kinobi Career Portal, which has collaborated with UNDIRA to support students and alumni through automated career preparation tools, including resume creation, professional profile optimization, and access to job and internship opportunities.

The webinar concluded with an interactive discussion emphasizing that automation skills and business process knowledge are increasingly valuable for future careers. Through initiatives like this, UNDIRA encourages students to actively adapt to digital transformation and become innovative contributors to the future workplace.
