Answering the Challenges and Transformation in the AI Bubble: UNDIRA and KORIKA Hold an AI Training to Empower Students
Jakarta, May 31, 2026 - The existence of AI is often considered a double-edged sword by certain demographics of society. Many view AI as a threat that can have a negative impact on the employment sector, while simultaneously dulling critical thinking skills. However, in an era that demands adaptability, the presence of AI can actually offer a ‘blessing in disguise’.
Recognizing the potential of AI to enhance productivity and innovation, the Informatics Engineering Study Program of Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA), in collaboration with KORIKA, hosted a seminar and open prompt engineering training at the 6th Floor Auditorium of the Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta, on May 30, 2026. The event was welcomed with great enthusiasm by approximately 200 members of the UNDIRA academic community and the general public, who attended both offline and online.
During the opening segment of the seminar, the Vice Rector IV for Institutional Development, Prof. Ir. Asri Nugrahanti, M.S., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng., conveyed that understanding the use of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) can support innovation and development across various sectors. Nevertheless, she also emphasized that the use of AI must be grounded in the principles of Responsible AI so that we can utilize it with full responsibility.

"The current climate of simultaneous technological development has pushed us all to face industrial transformation adaptively. Organizing this seminar is certainly crucial in developing the foundational competencies of the entire UNDIRA academic community. However, I believe that amidst competency enrichment, it is also necessary for all of us to empower a culture of Responsible AI so that the work we produce through AI can have a positive impact on the nation and state," she stated.
In line with Prof. Asri Nugrahanti's message, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hammam Riza, M.Sc., IPU., as the President of KORIKA, also echoed similar sentiments. He emphasized that although various industries currently utilize AI to support fast-tracking programs, we must also maintain credibility through human collaboration.
"AI is now focused on four major areas of global development: policy development, academic development, government development, and application development. Although its existence is considered capable of being a partner that can accelerate our work, we must also uphold credibility and wisdom in its use to maintain collective security. This is what underlies the establishment of the KORIKA AI Safety Institute - AI for good, not AI for bad, for our shared future," said Prof. Hammam.
According to Dr. Arie Wahyu Wijayanto, one of the KORIKA instructors present at this seminar, society needs to be more open to the potential of AI in the modern era, while also remaining consistent in developing responsible AI talents, fostering a fair ecosystem, and minimizing bias among users in alignment with the International AI Competency Framework and the 7 Ministers' Joint Decree (SKB 7 Menteri) regarding the utilization and empowerment of technology and AI.

"Although AI is already in a phase of rapid development, I believe that human uniqueness and imagination are still capable of opening collaborative opportunities among various parties. Furthermore, collective awareness is also needed to uphold credibility and a data-driven approach so that the utilization of AI can give rise to a safe and secure ecosystem," said Dr. Arie Wahyu.
Continuing Dr. Arie Wahyu's presentation, Mr. Abil Sudarman, as a representative of the KORIKA instructors, reiterated a similar message conveyed in the previous material. He advised that AI is a partner to increase efficiency and cannot completely replace the human role in the workplace.
Taking a case study in the field of programming, Mr. Abil Sudarman emphasized that in the coding process, many AI tools have been developed by large companies like Anthropic and SpaceX that are capable of supporting the coding field today. However, he reminded that in the use of AI in certain fields, students must anticipate potential conflicts of interest.
"In coding using AI, we don't just write code, but we also have to anticipate conflicts of interest arising from user surveys - are the UI/UX elements user-friendly? How strong is the security of the application or website we build? How much data can be managed by the application or website? In large companies, these questions are highly critical, and if we merely code without understanding or conducting tests according to the flowchart, it can lead to fatal mistakes in our careers. Remember, user trust is not only born from 'whether the program runs', but from how mature our understanding is as developers," said Abil Sudarman.
Closing the seminar segment, all participants were then given a test to measure their understanding of the material, as well as hands-on training in website creation using AI tools recommended by KORIKA. In the final session, UNDIRA also successfully opened the door for collaboration with KORIKA, which is expected to bridge and enhance the competencies of students and the public regarding AI empowerment in the digital era. All for one, one for all - let us utilize AI with the utmost wisdom.
