Committed to Preparing Professional Individuals, UNDIRA's Communication Studies Program Conducts Competency Certification for Students and Lecturers

Thursday, March 6, 2025 – The Communication Studies Program at Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) successfully held a Competency Certification Exam on March 1, 2025, conducted offline on the 5th floor of the Tanjung Duren Campus in West Jakarta.
The certification exam was conducted to equip students with competencies and specializations based on their chosen fields. The event collaborated with the InsCinema Professional Certification Institute, which served as assessors to evaluate each student's competencies. The certificates obtained by students will be used to create CVs and portfolios tailored to their respective fields.
The Competency Certification Exam consisted of three segments. In the first session, students were assigned to prepare presentations on materials related to their fields of study.
This included designing proposals, conducting audience analyses, budgeting, and developing research timelines relevant to their coursework. The success of these tasks was evaluated before being incorporated into the presentations.
In the second session, tasks progressed to the presentation phase, where students presented their data analysis and research findings, which had been reviewed by the assessors. The final session involved a comprehensive assessment of the final results presented and evaluated by the InsCinema assessors.
Upon passing the evaluation, students will receive a Competency Certificate, which will be used alongside the Diploma Companion Certificate (SKPI). The Competency Certificates will be issued in compliance with the regulations set by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) and the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). It is important to note that these certificates are valid for two years and are a mandatory requirement for Communication Studies students planning to undertake their Final Project (TA).
For students unable to attend the on-campus assessment, InsCinema offers in-person exams at its office, as the Competency Certification cannot be conducted online.
The Competency Certification also extended to UNDIRA's Communication Studies lecturers. According to a statement by the Secretary of the Communication Studies Program, Ms. Anna Nurjanah, S.I.Kom., M.A., although lecturers are not required to complete a thesis like students, the Competency Certificate remains beneficial. She added that, apart from supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which encompasses research, community service, and teaching, the certificate also serves as evidence of lecturers' competence in their respective fields and supports their research endeavors.
The certificates obtained through the Competency Certification Exam will be used to report lecturers' performance to the Ministry of Education and Culture's SISTER platform, contributing points to future Program Study accreditations and adding value to the professional qualifications of lecturers.
