The UNDIRA Career and Alumni Development Centre has held its first webinar activity in an effort to improve resource insights to equip UNDIRA alumni in pursuing careers. The webinar was moderated by the Head of the Career and Alumni Development Centre Bureau of Dian Nusantara University, Putri Ayienda Dinanti, M.Hum. and closed by the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau of Dian Nusantara University, Rengga Sendirian, M.Hum.
In today's era of technological advancement, it is important to prepare career steps and understand the latest information related to career development. Two crucial early components in starting a career are CV and portfolio development. Both of these documents have their uses.
-
A CV (Curriculum Vitae) contains information about your personal data, education history, work experience, and skills.
-
A portfolio contains more detailed information about one's achievements and accomplishments. This could be college experience, student activities, or other achievements, including work experience.
To understand these two early career preparation documents, the Career and Alumni Development Centre presented experts in the field of CV and Portfolio creation. The event consisted of two panel sessions delivered and complemented by Q&A and discussion sessions.
The first panel session was presented by Mr Jonathan Yohanes with the theme "The Secrets of CV for ATS Success (A Live Demo)" from Kinobi Technologies Indonesia. Kinobi is a non-academic management service provider company, one of which focuses on CV Builder. Founded in 2020, this Singapore-based company has a vision to become Asia's largest career accelerator platform for the upcoming generation Z. Kinobi collaborates with UNDIRA to introduce the ATS-Friendly CV Builder and job portal, with the aim of improving student career preparation. In this era of high competition for job opportunities, many companies receive many CV applications. Therefore, many companies use Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to find candidates more efficiently and effectively. Key points covered include the importance of presenting information effectively, important formats that should be included in an ATS-friendly CV, and the importance of keywords that match the job description.
The second panel session was led by Mrs Ika Noviani from Maxy Academy with the theme "Leverage Your Portfolio with AI." Maxy Academy is a company engaged in education technology and digital bootcamp. An experienced human resources (HR) professional, she shared insights on how artificial intelligence (AI) technology can speed up and simplify the process of creating a more effective portfolio. A portfolio is a document that showcases relevant skills, achievements and experiences. While a CV only contains a brief history, a portfolio contains more detailed information about a person's achievements. Portfolio creation requires expertise in visual presentation and good, creative storytelling. AI's role in portfolio creation involves visual design, colour selection, and algorithms that are attractive and professional-looking based on experience. In addition, AI also helps in keyword optimisation so that the portfolio is more easily found by HR.
From the presentation of the two panellists in the Career 1 Webinar, many lessons can be learned for career development. AI innovation has a positive side if utilised side by side with the skills of the individual. The synergy between AI technology and personal expertise can create a sophisticated and effective visual combination.
