Jakarta, September 8, 2026 — The arrival of a new academic year always brings new faces, aspirations, and hopes. As the new academic term approaches, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) welcomed its newest members through Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB), or Hello Campus, an orientation program designed to introduce new students to university life. The event was held at UNDIRA’s Tanjung Duren Campus in West Jakarta.

Carrying the theme, “Welcome to Nusantara Universe: Shape Your Digital Mindset, Light Your Global Impact!”, Hello Campus 2026 was met with great enthusiasm by 1,305 new students who participated both in person and online via Google Meet. This year’s Hello Campus was designed not merely to introduce students to academic life at UNDIRA, but also to instill the values of Visionary, Integrity, and Professionalism (VIP) as essential foundations for their journey as university students.

Vice Rector IV of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Prof. Ir. Asri Nugrahanti, M.S., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng., who attended Hello Campus in person, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to welcome UNDIRA’s newest students and gather with them on this meaningful first day of their university journey.

“Hello Campus is like a stepping stone that helps you move from high school into a much broader world. University is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about growing into more mature individuals. As UNDIRA approaches its seventh year and has reached more than 7,000 students, we remain committed to supporting our students in becoming individuals who are not only strong in character, but also contribute meaningfully to society, in accordance with the vision and mission of the Tridharma of Higher Education,” she said.

Opening the orientation sessions, Prof. Dr. Ir. Illah Sailah, M.S., explained that the broad concept of success cannot be measured solely by material achievements or individual abilities. Ethics and communication are equally important dimensions. As agents of change who directly encounter the dynamics of society and culture, students, she emphasized, must be able to become adaptable individuals. Along the journey toward success, the ability to adapt to change is an essential quality that cannot be compromised.

Sharing a similar perspective, Mr. Edvan M. Kautsar emphasized that success for university students should not be defined merely by obtaining a degree, but also by the power of dreams that inspires them to keep moving forward.

“Everyone can become a hero, but the journey toward success is also shaped by the moral values we uphold, as well as our grit and determination to pursue our dreams. When we shoot an arrow that is not aligned, it can soar toward its highest point. Success begins with us and with how we welcome and embrace the world around us,” he said.

Nevertheless, success is not built on perseverance alone. It also depends on how we learn to embrace and care for the world around us with heart and compassion. No matter how intelligent or capable a person may be, without strong moral principles, their journey can ultimately stray from its intended direction.

Through the key insights shared by Ms. Kornelia Johana Dacosta, M.I.Kom., Ms. Maharani Octy Ningsih, M.Psi., and the Head of UNDIRA’s PPKPT Task Force, Mr. Rengga Sendrian, M.Hum., it became clear that education and social life as a whole are not solely centered on academic achievement. They are equally concerned with preserving our humanity and building strong character, both within the university environment and in the wider community.

After all, meaningful aspirations are ultimately grounded in the values we carry within ourselves, reflected in how wisely we conduct ourselves and how consistently we strive to create positive impacts for those around us.

Closing the first day of Hello Campus: Welcome to Nusantara Universe, Mr. Anton Kurniawan, S.P., M.M., highlighted that university life extends beyond academic pursuits. Students can also develop themselves through non-academic activities, including various student programs and competitions.

Equally important, Ms. Islamiah Kamil, S.E., M.Ak., reminded students that developing financial awareness from an early stage is an essential part of preparing for the future. According to her, financial literacy plays a crucial role in fostering awareness and self-discipline in managing personal finances. One practical approach introduced to students was the 50:30:20 budgeting method, which can help them allocate their funds wisely while gradually building a stronger financial future from an early stage.
