GWS continues to evolve as an ecosystem providing various digital tools to support academic activities. In line with Universitas Dian Nusantara’s (UNDIRA) commitment to integrated learning, the use of Google Workspace has revolutionized and simplified processes for both faculty and students.

Beyond familiar applications such as Gmail, Docs, Drive, and Classroom, two new AI-based features—NotebookLM and Google Vids—are now available to the UNDIRA academic community. Although accessible, these tools have yet to be fully optimized within the learning process.

NotebookLM is an AI-powered learning assistant designed to help educators and students work faster and more systematically in comprehending materials. With its flagship source grounding feature, users can upload lecture documents from Google Drive and prompt the AI to summarize, explain concepts, answer questions, or generate case studies based specifically on those sources.

For lecturers, this serves as a tool for preparing material summaries, creating derivative teaching resources, or generating alternative explanations to help students grasp complex concepts. For students, NotebookLM acts as a learning companion that facilitates a more personalized and interactive understanding of course materials.

On the other hand, Google Vids is an AI-driven video creation app integrated directly with Drive, Docs, and Slides. Lecturers can produce brief educational videos, conceptual walkthroughs, or introductory lectures simply by inputting text or key bullet points.

Google Vids then automatically generates a video draft complete with narration, transitions, and visual recommendations, all of which remain fully customizable. This convenience opens new opportunities to produce engaging educational content without requiring complex design or video editing skills.

As an educational institution that prioritizes the development of knowledge based on science and technological mastery, the comprehensive implementation of Google Workspace and its innovative features has solidified the Teaching and Learning Process (PBM) workflow. These features at UNDIRA have successfully created a more interactive learning experience, helping students visualize and adapt to the material more effectively. Both tools also support learning flexibility, which is crucial in a digital era that demands diverse teaching media and dynamic instructional methods.
