Enhancing English Competence: UNDIRA Expands Collaboration with British Council EnglishScore
Jakarta, December 4, 2025 – Reflecting on current global conditions and globalization, which demand that we understand and master languages, it is only natural that we deepen our linguistic competence. Fundamentally, language is not merely a simple matter of learning how to pronounce vocabulary; it opens our insights into understanding context as a whole.
Answering these challenges, as a trusted and professional university with a global outlook, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) remains committed to improving education standards and quality—not only academically but also in character building—to ensure students are ready to meet industry and entrepreneurial needs by 2030.
To enhance this quality, comprehensive and structured collaboration is required. Through the UNDIRA English Centre (UEC), Universitas Dian Nusantara has officially established cooperation and held a joint meeting with the British Council to plan international-standard English competency testing and training methodologies.

The MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signing ceremony took place at the Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta on December 3, 2025. It was attended personally by Mr. Dwi Sapto Febriantaka, M.A. (Vice Rector II of UNDIRA), Mr. Magito, S.E., M.M. (Academic Director), Mr. Imam Priyono, ST, MM. (Director of Partnerships), and Ms. Maya Sekartaji, S.S., M.Hum. (Head of UNDIRA English Center) along with their team.
From the British Council, the team attended with great enthusiasm to execute this collaboration, including Mr. Ben Cook (Senior Assessment Manager, British Council) directly assigned as the representative for the UNDIRA partnership, Christian (Global Plan Manager, British Council), as well as Mr. Abdul Rohman and Ms. Adinda Saputra (Account Managers for the Indonesia Team).
Ms. Michelle, Sales Manager of British Council Indonesia, stated that this collaboration marks a premiere for the British Council as an Approved Partner of UNDIRA. As previously discussed, this activity focuses on initiating improvements in international-standard training and testing through EnglishScore. Abdul Rohman added that this application is designed to enhance students' English capabilities and comprehension.
He explained that EnglishScore is an AI-based application developed by the British Council capable of integrating international-standard English teaching and testing. It is equipped with various security systems, such as Face and Voice Recognition, to ensure user security. The EnglishScore application also features free training accessible to all users before proceeding to paid tests for certification.
“Following the onboarding with the implementation team regarding the EnglishScore system introduction, we proceeded with dashboard training to facilitate the EnglishScore implementation process, making it easier for UNDIRA to deploy EnglishScore as an international-standard test for students,” he stated.
Mr. Dwi Sapto Febriantaka, M.A., also commented on the prospects and appreciated the support for the EnglishScore implementation. He noted that this would support all Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) students in achieving superior, international-standard English competence.
“Language mastery not only opens graduate employment opportunities but also elevates the quality standards of UNDIRA graduates to face global challenges,” he remarked.

“Given the intensifying impact of globalization and the influence of AI on the professional world, this implementation will be beneficial for students. They will consistently acquire both technical and soft skills in English. Consequently, upon graduation, they will possess a competitive advantage in English that can enhance their career opportunities on the global stage,” he continued.
Mr. Ben Cook concluded by expressing hope that by building this EnglishScore testing plan, UNDIRA will be able to prepare the best outcomes with a plan aligned with the students' career and study goals.
