Friday, August 15, 2025 – Economic knowledge is a highly valuable asset, particularly considering the ever-changing economic conditions that continue to follow both domestic and international trends and policies. One topic that has increasingly become a major discussion in the economic sphere is investment.

According to a study published by the Ministry of Finance, investment is defined as an asset intended to generate economic benefits—such as interest, dividends, and royalties—or social benefits, thereby enhancing the government’s capacity to deliver public services. In managing investments, including the circulation of stocks, such knowledge is crucial.

With the growing enthusiasm for investments and stocks among today’s younger generation, the Management Study Program at Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA) had the opportunity to conduct a study visit to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on August 12, 2025.

The visit aimed to provide deeper insights into the stock market and its benefits. Under the supervision of lecturers Mr. Luthfi Alhazami, S.E., M.M. and Mr. Eriklex Donald Sahusilawane, S.E., M.M., a total of 64 students attentively took part in the presentation and discussions.

This visitation program was a continuation of the collaboration between UNDIRA’s Investment Gallery and IDX, which was first established in 2024. On March 6, 2024, UNDIRA’s Investment Gallery launched initiatives to disseminate investment knowledge more widely to both students and the general public.

From the visit, students gained detailed insights into the workflow, regulations, and mechanisms governing various investment instruments in Indonesia. IDX plays a pivotal role in bringing together securities sellers and buyers (issuers), facilitated through ownership certificates issued by companies or other institutions. As the official marketplace for financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, and more, IDX ensures that an integrated trading forum operates effectively.

According to several participating students, the materials also presented case studies based on current global economic conditions, such as inflation and deflation, shifts in government policies affecting trade tariffs, and market movements shaping economic trends. They expressed that these case studies sparked a growing interest in financial management and helped them explore strategies for long-term wealth creation.

Through learning about stock market movements, the benefits of investment for individuals as well as for the nation, the IDX’s role in ensuring trading transparency, and the long history of Indonesia’s stock market, UNDIRA students expressed their enthusiasm for the world of investments.

This visit, which was met with highly positive responses from UNDIRA students, highlighted that investment knowledge is not only essential for market players but also serves as a crucial foundation for the younger generation to contribute meaningfully to national economic growth.
