Wednesday, August 6, 2025 – In order to enhance competency, deepen understanding, and prepare prospective assessors to carry out their duties in the future, on August 4, 2025 the Professional Certification Institute of Dian Nusantara University (LSP UNDIRA) held a workshop titled “Training and Certification of Prospective Competency Assessors of the Professional Certification Institute of Dian Nusantara University (LSP UNDIRA)” at the Investment Gallery Room, UNDIRA Green Ville Campus, West Jakarta.

On this occasion, participants included not only UNDIRA lecturers but also external parties. Two experienced assessors from BNSP — Mr. Thomas Widodo and Ms. Annie Savitri — were also present, taking the time to deliver material and assess participants who will later earn the title of competent assessor.

Mr. Eriklex Donald Sahusilawane, S.E., M.M., as The Chairman of LSP UNDIRA, explained that LSP UNDIRA continuously strives to advance the competencies of UNDIRA students so that they are well-prepared to meet future industry needs.

“LSP UNDIRA is not merely administrative, but also a guarantor of quality and a driver of a competency-based culture. Through this training, we aim to foster professionalism — not simply issuing certificates, but preparing you to be the frontline in maintaining graduate quality and improving our nation’s competitiveness,” he stated.

“Amid the demands of globalization, competency standards are not just optional — they are essential. Therefore, it is expected that you, as prospective competent assessors, will carry a sense of responsibility and be capable of conducting fair, objective assessments based on up-to-date evidence,” he added.

Similarly, Mr. Dwi Sapto Febriantaka, M.A., Vice rector II of UNDIRA expressed his appreciation for the participants’ enthusiasm in the field of assessment and their willingness to take part in the training. Moving forward, he hopes UNDIRA students, as well as professionals and business practitioners, can have the opportunity to become assessors — and even advance to the level of competent master assessor.

The training continued promptly with Mr. Thomas Widodo opening the session by explaining the main duties of assessors. 

“An on field-assessor is not merely responsible for judgment. The assessment process involves several stages that every assessor must carry out, namely: Planning, validating information from the reviewed institution, and finally reporting the outcomes of the assessment process according to their respective fields,” said Mr. Thomas Widodo.

Ms. Annie Savitri added that during the assessment process, an assessor must carefully collect objective evidence, such as: Direct Evidence — where assessors conduct field observations of the performance of the party being assessed; Indirect Evidence — where assessors request documents from third parties relating to competence and fulfillment of tasks performed; and Supplemental Evidence — where assessors independently seek information from various perspectives related to the assessed party.

With the implementation of the LSP UNDIRA Prospective Assessor Training and Certification, it is hoped that superior human resources will be developed who are capable of meeting industrial challenges and strengthening national competitiveness through a culture of competency and BNSP-standard certification.
