Preparing for the Re-Accreditation of Engineering Study Programs: Faculty of Engineering and Informatics UNDIRA Holds LAM Teknik Accreditation Workshop

Jakarta, 19 April 2025 – To enhance the quality of education and prepare for the re-accreditation of study programs within the Faculty of Engineering at Dian Nusantara University (FTI UNDIRA), a LAM Teknik Accreditation Workshop was held in the 6th floor hall of the Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta, on Saturday, 19 April 2025.

The workshop involved 30 permanent lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics UNDIRA, who participated both online via Google Meet and in person.

According to UNDIRA Vice Rector I, Mr. Ir. Margono Sugeng M.Sc., study programs are required to undergo re-accreditation every five years. In line with regulations, the re-accreditation process must be initiated at least six months before the accreditation status expires.

"It is expected that by December 2025, the Faculty will have submitted the necessary documents for the re-accreditation process. Hence, the presence of Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Nasruddin, M.Eng., as a speaker and a Professor of Engineering at the University of Indonesia (UI), provides crucial insights for the Faculty of Engineering UNDIRA to undertake the accreditation process effectively," said Mr. Ir. Margono Sugeng M.Sc.

Dr. Ing. Ir. Nasruddin, M.Eng., shared guidance and accreditation preparation tips. Besides being a Professor at the University of Indonesia, he also serves as the Chair of the Independent Accreditation Institute for Engineering (LAM Teknik) Evaluation. He explained that LAM Teknik is an independent non-profit organization, consisting of high-quality assessors from respective study programs relevant to the assessments conducted.

The main goal of LAM Teknik is to carry out objective and factual accreditation, aiming to enhance the reputation of related study programs and faculties. LAM Teknik evaluates the performance and quality of higher education institutions' study programs in accordance with the CRAM criteria (Culture, Relevance, Accountability, and Mission) set by BAN-PT.

LAM Teknik operates under standards set by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE), which was established as part of the Indonesian Engineers Association (LPII).

With the third batch commencing this September, the three Engineering Study Programs at UNDIRA have the opportunity to participate in the accreditation process. Prof. Nasruddin emphasized that the assessment instruments used this year remain largely unchanged from the previous year.

The evaluation process by IABEE, both nationally and internationally, involves meticulous examinations of online-submitted LED (Learning Evaluation Document) files as well as findings from Visitation Study Results (Kajian Visitasi or KS).

According to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics UNDIRA, Mrs. Desi Ramayanti, S.Kom., M.T., this event serves as further preparation for accreditation focused on the three Engineering Study Programs at UNDIRA: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
