Building Character and Leadership, UNDIRA Student Affairs Bureau Holds Student Coordination Meeting and Seminar

Jakarta, February 22, 2025 – In an effort to enhance the quality of leadership and synergy among student organizations, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) organized a Sharing Knowledge Student Organization Coordination Meeting, a forum for discussion and coordination that brings together all student organizations with the Student Affairs Bureau.
One of the main highlights of the Coordination Meeting was a sharing session led by Mr. Ir. Agustanzil Sjahroezah, M.PA., a Harvard University alumnus and grandson of National Hero Haji Agus Salim. With his rich background in industry, leadership, and social activism, he provided invaluable insights and experiences to the students.
In his discussion session, he emphasized the importance of balancing success and happiness in life, especially for students. "Choose to be successful or happy? Success can be seen, but happiness can be felt. Therefore, create programs that can be praised by many people," said Agustanzil.
He continued that student organizations should focus on programs with real social impacts. Although social service tends to take up students' time, even small efforts can influence the lives of those around them. A concrete example is the blood donation program conducted by UNDIRA in collaboration with Jati Sampurna Hospital, Bekasi, West Java, last year.
Mr. Ir. Agustanzil further stated that positive initiatives like the blood donation program would bring positive impressions not only to the institution but also to students as the front line of society. Besides being academics tasked with improving educational literacy, the positive activities carried out also reflect the students' commitment to making a positive impact.
Additionally, he reminded students of the importance of building integrity and character in organizations. He encouraged students to learn from the history of the nation's founders, understand the values of heroism, and apply principles of honesty, courage, and patriotism in their leadership.
Good learning not only comes from ongoing moments but also from studying life records that can serve as self-reflection material in the future.
On this occasion, Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan, Chairman of Dian Asra Foundation, also gave positive remarks on the material presented by Mr. Ir. Agustanzil Sjahroezah, M.PA. Additionally, Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan emphasized that besides having the fighting spirit to change the social order, students must also develop their soft skills through various training and workshops. He continued that change should not only focus on contributions to society but also on the betterment of self for a brighter future.
To support this self-development, Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan emphasized the role of the Career Development and Alumni Bureau and the Student Affairs Bureau, which not only provide learning supplies to students but also support their career development through the UNDIRA Career Portal as a platform for storing various achievements that can later be used in creating CVs and portfolios.
"We want student organizations to be not only a place for soft skill development but also a platform for students to build a strong academic and professional track record," said Sagoro Dharmawan.
The UNDIRA Student Affairs Bureau reiterated its commitment to continuously support the development of student organizations through various facilities, training, and guidance needed. Moreover, it is expected that each organization can be more active in utilizing the technology and digital platforms provided by the campus to support their activities.
Through this event, UNDIRA reaffirms its commitment to producing young generations who excel not only academically but also possess strong leadership, relevant skills, and high social awareness.
