A Sacred Moment for Scholars: Graduation, More Than Just Wearing a Gown

Graduation is a ceremonial event eagerly awaited by both students and their parents. At UNDIRA, we understand that in life there are always moments of meeting and parting.
The word wisuda itself comes from the Javanese term Wisudha, which means inauguration or conferment—an honor bestowed upon individuals who have successfully completed their studies. According to History, as cited by detiknews, the tradition of graduation began in the 15th century with the conferral of academic degrees, diplomas, and the wearing of ceremonial robes.
What was once a tradition confined to universities has now spread across all levels of education, from kindergarten to senior high and vocational schools. Beyond that, each region and even individual institutions celebrate graduation in their own way, often with unique themes and styles of ceremony.
Graduation reflects the fruits of perseverance and hard work endured by students and scholars. It serves as a turning point, a moment when graduates step forward into the next stage of life, carrying with them knowledge and a greater mission—not only for themselves but also for the nation. For parents, too, this is a moment of deep joy, when years of prayers and support for their children finally bear sweet results.
Graduation is also a moment of appreciation for all who contributed encouragement along the way. Every creative and innovative step achieved could not have been realized without collaboration, whether through moral support or active participation.
The contributions of teachers, staff, and lecturers are invaluable, as they patiently shape future agents of change with trust, encouragement, and inspiration, helping guide the nation toward a better chapter.
On November 1, 2025, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) will hold its third graduation ceremony alongside its 6th anniversary at ICE BSD, Tangerang. A total of 850 new graduates are expected, ready to become agents of change not only for their peers and families but also for Indonesia as a whole. This moment will surely be unforgettable for our beloved campus—for students, faculty, and staff alike—as a testament to the efforts and achievements accomplished together.
Graduation is living proof that we are future leaders of the nation, survivors chosen to take on the next chapter of life. Ultimately, graduation is not merely about titles or gowns, but a reminder of all the small yet meaningful steps we have taken—accompanied by prayers, tears, and laughter. Together, let us open a brighter new chapter. UNDIRA, Jaya, Jaya, Jaya!
