Opening the Window to Culture and Society: English Literature Students of UNDIRA Visit the U.S. Embassy

There is a saying, "many roads lead to Rome," and this phrase can also be applied to the learning process. Learning does not have to be confined to one place. In an effort to expand literary knowledge and foster international cultural study collaboration, the English Literature Study Program at Universitas Dian Nusantara visited the MyAmerica Library at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. The event, which involved 28 students from the English Literature program, was carried out with great enthusiasm. The spirit of learning was also shared by the head of the English Literature Program at UNDIRA, Mr. Todo F. B. Sibuea, S.Pd., M.Hum., and Mrs. Putri Ayienda D., M.Hum., who also took part in the visit.
In addition to studying international culture, the visit also provided an opportunity for an open discussion forum regarding various achievements attained by Universitas Dian Nusantara, particularly after receiving the BAIK SEKALI accreditation. On the other hand, students also had the chance to present the various work programs, as well as the vision and mission of the English Literature Study Program at UNDIRA.
During this visit, the students of UNDIRA were warmly welcomed by U.S. diplomat Mr. Benjamin Irvine, as well as other staff members of the U.S. Embassy who were present to greet them. Without delay, students had the opportunity to participate in a public tour and a literature workshop organized by the U.S. Embassy.
At the literature workshop, UNDIRA students had the chance to deepen their understanding of American culture and history. In addition, students were able to discuss and read books from the collection available at the MyAmerica Library.
Through this connection and harmonious discussion between the English Literature Study Program at Universitas Dian Nusantara and the U.S. Embassy, it is hoped that global awareness will increase regarding academic and cultural contributions between institutions. This visit also provides an opportunity for Universitas Dian Nusantara to build international networks for the future, so that UNDIRA can thrive not only in Indonesia but also in the hearts of international partners.
