From Concept to Reality: Faculty of Engineering and Informatics Hosts Technofest Once Again

24 Desember 2024

Jakarta, December 21, 2024 – "Ideas are not just dreams," a phrase brought to life by the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics (FTI) during the Technofest event, held once again at the 6th Floor Hall of Dian Nusantara University, Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta. While Technofest focuses on exact sciences, the event is open to everyone.

The second series of Technofest follows the success of the first, held on July 20, 2024. Similar to the first volume of the event previously held, the aim of this second Technofest is to provide FTI students of Dian Nusantara University an opportunity to showcase and demonstrate their creations. The participating programs include Informatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

The chairman of the Second Technofest, Mr. Boy Yuliadi, M. Kom., opened the event by stating that Technofest serves as both a competition platform and a showcase of final projects from eight courses in the Engineering and Informatics programs. He expressed hope that Technofest would facilitate better collaboration among students in developing innovations.

Students attending shared testimonials about the previous Technofest, emphasizing how the event encouraged them to create innovations that simplify technological access for the community. It also inspired them to apply classroom knowledge and enhance their research achievements.

The Rector of Dian Nusantara University, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, highlighted the importance of Technofest. "As future academics who will carry the nation forward, Technofest provides a platform for students to showcase their competitive spirit across universities. With DIKTI's support, students can submit their findings for patent applications," he stated.

Mr. Margono Sugeng, M.Sc., added that Dian Nusantara University remains committed to fostering groundbreaking ideas through education based on scientific knowledge and humanistic technology. Technofest embodies the spirit of contributing to society, aligned with UNDIRA's values: Visionary, Integrity, and Professionalism.

At Technofest, there were also showcases of student projects at each provided booth. These projects were met with great enthusiasm by the Rector and the Vice Rectors of UNDIRA, who took the time to visit each booth and observe the demonstrations of each project.

Additionally, Technofest featured quiz segments and content creation competitions for students. The quizzes included a variety of general course (MKCU) questions that covered not only scientific subjects (physics, chemistry, mathematics), thus adding diversity in showcasing proficiency in various non-science subjects to the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics. This reflects UNDIRA's dedication to supporting the development of education and research for the younger generation across various fields of study.

The success of the second Technofest marks a proud moment for the entire academic community at UNDIRA, particularly in their dedication to advancing technology and science for a brighter future for humanity. With support from various stakeholders, it is hoped that the annual Technofest will continue to inspire creativity and motivation among UNDIRA's youth to innovate for the future of Indonesia.
