Jakarta, March 28, 2024 - Ramadan is a highly anticipated month and is considered a month full of blessings, mercy and forgiveness and is considered holy by Muslims around the world. It is a month where Muslims fast from dawn to sunset every day for about a whole month. All Muslims also try to increase their acts of worship, such as increasing their recitation of the Qur'an, increasing their prayers and dhikr and giving alms.

Sharing blessings in the month of Ramadan is highly recommended in Islam and is the perfect time to support orphans and underprivileged community members, this is a noble act that continues to be upheld by Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA).

UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah, an annual event inspired by the spirit of Ramadan, was held on March 21 and 28, 2024 at Tanjung Duren Campus and Cibubur Campus. This agenda includes providing assistance to around 100 underprivileged people, including orphans from the community around UNDIRA and the Yatim and Dhuafa Foundation in Tanjung Duren Selatan. The event was also attended by VIP guests, namely 3 Pillars from several sub-districts, such as Tanjung Duren, Kebon Jeruk, and Jatisampurna sub-districts.

Apart from being an integral charitable activity, Ramadan also has a strong social dimension. Many Muslims use this opportunity to stay in touch with family and friends. The tradition of breaking the fast together is also a much appreciated moment, where people gather to enjoy a delicious meal after a day of enduring hunger and thirst. Such interactions serve as a platform to foster interpersonal relationships, which are highly encouraged in Islamic principles.

Likewise, as part of the annual tradition that UNDIRA has carried out since its establishment in 2019, in addition to providing compensation, UNDIRA also organizes iftar events among employees. This is part of UNDIRA's commitment to foster bonds and strengthen the family atmosphere among its leaders and employees, especially during the month of Ramadan. This tradition is carried out on Saturday, March 23 which aims to share and as a means of intimacy between UNDIRA employees with the hope of becoming a family in order to create a comfortable and prosperous work environment. Over the past four years, these activities have become an important part of UNDIRA's regular routine, which aims to strengthen kinship within the organization.

In addition, during Ramadan, there is an increase in social awareness and concern for others. Many organizations and individuals exemplify this by making charitable donations and implementing humanitarian initiatives and goodwill to help those in need. This reflects Muslims' adherence to the teachings of Islam which encourages them to embody the moral values inherent in Islam. It reflects the Prophet Muhammad's teachings to his followers about caring for the needs of others and sharing with those less fortunate.

Overall, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is considered a very sacred and important month for Muslims around the world. In addition to utilizing this time to increase piety and devotion to God during Ramadan, the month also provides an opportunity to strengthen social relationships and increase care for our fellow human beings. By observing the Ramadan fast with sincere dedication, culminating in the successful completion of the month-long fast, Muslims collectively celebrate their victory on Eid al-Fitr - a day filled with moments of joy and gratitude.
