Jakarta, September 4, 2026 — Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) conducted a government relations visit with the Government of West Jakarta on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The meeting marked a concrete step in UNDIRA’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between the academic community and government institutions, while advancing the downstream application of knowledge and research to create a meaningful impact on society.

The meeting was held in person at the Meeting Room of the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office and was attended by the Deputy Mayor of West Jakarta, Mr. Ali Murtadho, along with representatives from Education Sub-Departments for Areas I and II, the Sub-Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics, as well as the Head of the Regional Civil Service Subdivision. Representing UNDIRA, the meeting was led by the Director of Cooperation, Public Relations, and Marketing, Mr. Imam Priyono, S.T., M., accompanied by the Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Ms. Kornelia Johana Dacosta, M.I.Kom., and the Head of the Research and Community Service Bureau, Dr. Erfiana Wahyuningsih, S.T., M.T.

Opening the meeting, Mr. Imam Priyono expressed his hope that the visit would help align UNDIRA’s programs with the priorities of the West Jakarta Municipal Government, in accordance with the vision and mission of the Tridharma of Higher Education. This includes strengthening research, community service, and community empowerment to support the development of human resources and institutional capacity, particularly within the West Jakarta Municipal Government.

From an academic perspective, the discussion explored opportunities to develop and establish further education pathways for employees and Civil Servants (ASN) working within West Jakarta through the Independent Study Assignment scheme. Responding to the proposal, Deputy Mayor Ali Murtadho highlighted the significant potential of higher education to contribute to human resource development while supporting the optimization of local governance.

“The proposal is quite interesting, particularly for employees who have not yet had the opportunity to continue their education. However, it should be noted that its implementation would require further approval from the respective Regional Apparatus Organizations (SKPD/UKPD) overseeing each employee,” he explained.

Following the interest expressed by the West Jakarta Government, UNDIRA also introduced several scholarship opportunities as part of its commitment to promoting broader access to higher education. These include scholarships through the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) program, achievement-based scholarships, BAZNAS scholarships, and Tahfidz scholarships.

The discussion then moved beyond opportunities for further study toward the downstream application of academic knowledge through research and Community Service (PkM) initiatives. One potential implementation is the Partner Village Program (Desa Binaan), in which the location and activities would be determined based on the needs and relevance of each local community, while also taking into account the expertise and capacity of UNDIRA’s respective study programs. Further coordination with the Education Sub-Departments will be carried out to develop the program.

The initiative was met with enthusiasm by representatives from several sub-districts, who shared specific challenges and needs within their respective areas. In response, Dr. Erfiana Wahyuningsih explained that UNDIRA has academic experts with relevant expertise who can contribute to addressing these issues. She further noted that the identified challenges could be incorporated into the Semester Learning Plans (RPS) of relevant study programs and subsequently proposed through DIKTI grant schemes, enabling the implementation of sustainable community development programs.

Both parties agreed on several follow-up agendas, including the preparation of drafts for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS), the preparation of data and policies related to scholarship opportunities and the needs of the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) for Entrepreneurship by UNDIRA, further coordination with sub-district governments across West Jakarta to map specific research and community service needs, and the preparation of a Rectorate memorandum as the basis for implementing the programs discussed during the meeting.

The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing the establishment of a positive and collaborative relationship between Universitas Dian Nusantara and the West Jakarta Municipal Government.

Through this collaboration, UNDIRA is committed to continuously expanding the contribution of its academic expertise to society while strengthening the role of higher education institutions as strategic partners for local governments and communities. By fostering closer collaboration, UNDIRA seeks to contribute to addressing social, educational, and development challenges while supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
