Strengthening Industry Insight, UNDIRA Management Student Association (HMM) Conducts Company Visit to PT Amerta Indah Otsuka Sukabumi
Jakarta, July 29, 2026 – A strong understanding of industrial management and business operations has become an essential asset for university students in today's rapidly evolving professional landscape. Beyond deepening their knowledge of modern industrial practices, direct exposure to the corporate environment also enables students to build valuable professional networks for their future careers. With this objective in mind, the Management Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Manajemen/HMM) of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) organized a company visit to PT Amerta Indah Otsuka in Sukabumi on Friday, July 24, 2026.
The visit was organized as part of the implementation of the Introduction to Management and Business course, particularly the Operations Management module. A total of 31 students participated in the program, accompanied by two faculty members, Rahmat, S.Pd.I., M.M., and Anton Kurniawan, S.P., M.M.
The visit began with an introduction to the profile of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, a Japanese multinational company founded by Busaburo Otsuka in 1921 in Tokushima, Japan. During the company profile presentation, one of the company's representatives explained that PT Amerta Indah Otsuka operates in the Food and Beverage (F&B) industry with the mission of improving public health and enhancing quality of life through a range of nutritious products, including Pocari Sweat, Soyjoy, and Oronamin C.
In 1997, PT Amerta Indah Otsuka was officially established in Indonesia by its parent company, Otsuka Japan, and became the manufacturer of one of its flagship products, Pocari Sweat.
Today, while remaining committed to its corporate philosophy, "Otsuka-people creating new products for better health worldwide," PT Amerta Indah Otsuka and its entire workforce continue to drive innovation in developing products that contribute to improving people's health and well-being around the world.
Throughout the visit, students were encouraged to engage directly with the company's representatives during an interactive question-and-answer session. One of the discussions focused on how the company integrates sustainability into both its management practices and environmental stewardship. The question was answered enthusiastically by a representative of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka.
"Environmental and resource management remain among our highest priorities alongside our commitment to providing nutritious products to the public. One of the initiatives we proudly promote is the Otsuka Blue Planet program. Through this initiative, PT Otsuka Indonesia is committed to optimizing production waste management while continuously developing more innovative, durable, and environmentally friendly bottle packaging," said a representative of PT Otsuka Indonesia.
Following the company profile presentation and Q&A session at Brilliant Hall, PT Amerta Indah Otsuka Indonesia, the students participated in a series of interactive games designed to introduce the ingredients, health benefits, and functions of the company's products in a fun and engaging way.
The company visit concluded with a guided tour of several supporting facilities and the production processing plant at PT Amerta Indah Otsuka. The program ended with a networking session, during which both parties explored opportunities for future internship collaborations for UNDIRA students at PT Amerta Indah Otsuka Indonesia.

Through this company visit, HMM UNDIRA hopes that students will gain more than just a theoretical understanding of operations management. By observing firsthand how industry-leading practices are implemented at a company such as PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, students are expected to develop broader professional perspectives and practical insights. The experience is also intended to inspire them to continuously strengthen their competencies, expand their professional networks, and better prepare themselves for the increasingly competitive world of work.
