Strengthening Student Career Intake: BPKA UNDIRA and Ministry of Labour of Indonesia Holds Green Career Strategy Seminar in the Era of Sustainable Industry
Jakarta, May 22, 2026 — Resilience has become one of the key aspects currently emphasized across various industries. Advancing resilience is not only beneficial for fostering innovation, but also for ensuring security — particularly in the field of careers. As we understand today, the younger generation is faced with a series of new challenges, ranging from Artificial Intelligence (AI), digitalization, to automation, all of which are increasingly reducing the demand for human resources across multiple employment sectors.
In response to these circumstances, the Career Development and Alumni Bureau of Universitas Dian Nusantara (BPKA UNDIRA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMNAKER RI) and the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI), organized a career seminar titled “The Future Green Careers: Student Strategies for Career Readiness in the Era of Sustainable Industry.”
Held at the UNDIRA Auditorium, Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta, the seminar received an enthusiastic response from 150 UNDIRA students who attended with great excitement. Many participants acknowledged that the event served as an important momentum for gaining deeper insight into determining their future career paths.
UNDIRA Vice Rector III, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Hasanuddin Thoyieb, M.M., who took the opportunity to attend the event, expressed his view that in today’s rapidly changing world — particularly in relation to employment absorption systems — it is essential for individuals to recognize the importance of preparing the best possible strategies.
“Various challenges we encounter are capable of creating chain reactions that may impact our sustainability. Therefore, in this era of rapid global transformation, where approximately 85 million jobs are gradually being replaced by technology, we must be able to read situations carefully, improve our competencies and literacy, and most importantly, seize the strategic opportunities created by the development of the times,” stated Mr. Hasanuddin Thoyieb.
Responding to this statement, Yanti Maryanti, S.E., M.T., Associate Expert Functional Officer for Job Placement at the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, representing the Director General of Training and Productivity Development (PKK KEMNAKER RI), explained that the seminar was organized to equip students with a better understanding of labor market dynamics while simultaneously strengthening the bridge between higher education and the professional world. Furthermore, the event was intended to shorten the transition period for graduates entering the workforce.
“Preparing to enter the workforce is an important moment, not only in terms of seeking employment but also in maintaining sustainable performance. Therefore, students must possess strong preparation, both in terms of competence and psychological readiness. This is because in the workplace, we are not only expected to demonstrate expertise, but also integrity and professionalism,” she stated.
Continuing the message delivered by Mrs. Yanti Maryanti, Aditya Dona Widjaya Hartojo, S.E., M.Si., Deputy Head of the Career Guidance and Counseling Division at the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, also presented various career preparation pathways and practical tips for UNDIRA students. In his presentation, he emphasized that the government remains committed to creating an ecosystem that supports employment absorption for the younger generation, as stipulated in Law No. 13 of 2003, Article 3.
This commitment is realized through various programs and digital platforms initiated by the Ministry of Manpower, including the “SiapKerja” website, which provides access to competency development, job training, and career opportunity information. Additionally, the Ministry offers the Skill Hub feature as a competency-based training platform, as well as the Professional Certification Marketplace, which enables individuals to obtain professional certifications to strengthen their competitiveness in the labor market.

Irham Abdul Azis, M.M., Senior Manager of Strategic Account & Government Relations at Wadhwani Foundation, alongside Dr. Kristiana Dewayani, M.Si., Industrial & Organizational Psychologist as well as Self-Growth & Career Path Coach from the Association of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (APIO) — HIMPSI, then delivered complementary perspectives. Mr. Irham emphasized that although the presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) brings significant challenges to the employment landscape, AI can ultimately become a powerful career partner in the future and a tool that, when utilized properly, can expand opportunities and strengthen professional competencies.
On the other hand, Dr. Kristiana highlighted that amid the rapid pace of change, determining one’s career direction cannot rely solely on trends. Consistency remains the fundamental foundation, accompanied by the ability to take responsibility for every career decision made based on the knowledge and competencies acquired as a true reflection of professionalism.

As a closing note, this event serves as concrete evidence that the Career Development and Alumni Bureau (BPKA) of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) remains consistently committed to providing the best support for shaping students’ career development. For BPKA UNDIRA, every step taken is an investment in the future, enabling all of us to shine together toward a brighter tomorrow.
