Fostering Solidarity and Togetherness: The UNDIRA Community Holds Eid al-Fitr 1447H Halalbihalal

Jakarta, April 3, 2026“Returning in togetherness, realigning our hearts to embrace the future,” marks a reflective transition as the academic community of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) concludes the holy month of Ramadan 1447H and celebrates the triumph of Eid al-Fitr. In welcoming the return to academic routines while strengthening institutional solidarity, the entire UNDIRA community convened a Halalbihalal gathering on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Held at the Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta, the event was conducted with solemnity and warmth, attended by members of the university leadership, heads of bureaus, and the Chair of the Dian Asra Foundation, all of whom were present to commemorate the occasion.

The Rector of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, conveyed that amid the turbulence shaping today’s global landscape, unity and collective effort remain fundamental in sustaining resilience and progressing toward a better future.

Alhamdulillah, this year we are once again able to gather in good health after observing the fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Amid the current global uncertainties, we are not immune to anxiety, which at times challenges our ability to regulate emotions in daily life. Nevertheless, even within such conditions, we must continue to appreciate the achievements we have attained for UNDIRA thus far,” stated Prof. Suharyadi.

He further emphasized, “Through today’s Halalbihalal at our beloved campus, I hope we not only reinforce our spirit of solidarity and mutual cooperation, but also cultivate peace among one another to ensure the continuity of a conducive academic environment.”

A similar sentiment was expressed by Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan, Chair of the Dian Asra Foundation. He highlighted that Halalbihalal serves as a meaningful moment for the entire UNDIRA community to renew forgiveness and rebuild bonds of fellowship, particularly in a world increasingly marked by instability.

As conveyed by Prof. Suharyadi, we are no longer living in the same world as before. In times of global tension, while there is often a perception that strength determines victory, it is in fact adaptability that defines resilience. This is where education plays a pivotal role—not only in shaping intellectually capable individuals, but also adaptive ones,” he remarked.

He continued, “Producing competent graduates does not merely equate to professional success, but also to the cultivation of character. Universitas Dian Nusantara must not only serve as an institution of instruction, but also as a space for developing self-awareness—where individuals discover not only their professions, but also their identity. For behind meaningful success lies a deeply rooted sense of humanity.

Concluding the opening session, the Vice Rector III of UNDIRA, Ir. Dr. Muhammad Hasanuddin Thoyieb, M.M., elaborated that the essence of mutual forgiveness embodied in Halalbihalal may be understood as a gateway granted by Allah SWT for humanity to attain both success and true victory.

1

Achievement is realized when we open the door to forgiveness among one another. In Surah An-Nashr of the Holy Qur’an, we encounter the foundational notion of ‘opening.’ Opening the door of forgiveness is the first step toward attaining victory granted by Allah SWT,” he explained.

He further noted that although history records instances where unity in Islam was achieved through conflict, such approaches are not absolute in fostering meaningful human connection. Islam, grounded in the moral framework of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, which emphasizes mutual understanding and compassion as the foundation for unity—one of which is expressed through forgiveness.

The Halalbihalal concluded with a Tilawah segment delivered by two UNDIRA lecturers, Mr. Luthfi Alhazami and Ms. Anna Nurjannah, followed by handshakes as a sign of forgiveness amongst each UNDIRA Family, alongside a communal luncheon featuring traditional Eid dishes shared among all attendees. This gathering is expected to further strengthen the sense of unity within the UNDIRA community, both in the present and in the years to come.
