Strengthening Social and Intellectual Compassion During Ramadan 1447 H, UNDIRA Holds “Berbagi Berkah” at the Kranggan Campus, Cibubur

Jakarta, March 13, 2026 – The Holy Month of Ramadan teaches profound humanitarian values while strengthening the bonds of fellowship among communities. This spirit served as the foundation for the UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah event held at the Cibubur Kranggan Raya Campus of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA), located in Jatisampurna District, Bekasi, on March 11, 2026.

This year’s Berbagi Berkah activity was attended by 50 participants consisting of underprivileged families and orphans from the Kranggan and Jatisampurna areas of Bekasi. Several distinguished guests were also present, including the Rector of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi; the Chairman of the Dian Asra Foundation, Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan; the Chairwoman of the Amri Jaya Foundation, Mrs. Fadlun Umar; the Head of Jatisampurna District, Mr. Nata Wirya, S.Sos., M.Si.; along with representatives from the Three Pillars of Jatisampurna, Jatiraden, and Pondok Gede, as well as members of the UNDIRA academic community who contributed to fostering an atmosphere of togetherness.

Opening the event in a serene and reflective manner, the UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an performed by recipients of the Tahfidz Qur’an scholarship and UNDIRA alumni, namely Mr. Arif Rahman Hakim, a student from the Management Study Program, and Ms. Vita Andriani Putri, an alumna of the Communication Science Study Program.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi stated that the UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah initiative has been consistently organized for the past six years, and the charitable assistance distributed this year reflects UNDIRA’s commitment to supporting the surrounding community.

By the grace of Allah SWT, we are able to gather once again in good health, allowing the UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah program to be carried out consistently and successfully. This year, we are also able to hold the event in one of the new buildings at the Kranggan Campus, which is truly a blessing from Allah SWT. We hope that UNDIRA will continue to prosper in the future. God willing, we will be able to complete our fasting throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan with devotion and attain the fullest blessings in this month of goodness,” said Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Mr. Nata Wirya, S.Sos., M.Si., who conveyed his appreciation for UNDIRA’s consistency and success in implementing social programs that contribute to the welfare of the local community.

As the Head of Jatisampurna District, together with the Three Pillars and the RT/RW administrators who have helped coordinate this charitable program, I would like to express our gratitude for UNDIRA’s consistency and concern, which have continuously brought positive impacts to the lives of the community. Indeed, UNDIRA’s achievements also reflect the government’s broader mission to alleviate poverty through the education sector,” he stated.

Addressing the aid recipients, he also encouraged them to remain enthusiastic in pursuing education.

To all of you who receive this assistance today, I hope you will never grow tired of learning. Knowledge opens pathways toward a brighter future. As the saying goes, ‘all roads lead to Rome,’ and education will guide you toward the best possible path for your future,” he added.

The program then continued with the distribution of charitable assistance and gift packages to the 50 underprivileged participants and orphans present at the event. The distribution was led by Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, Mrs. Fadlun Umar, and Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan.

As a university guided by the values of Visionary thinking, Integrity, and Professionalism, the UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah initiative extends beyond the distribution of material assistance. In order to provide spiritual enrichment to participants, the event also featured a religious lecture (tausiyah) delivered by Ust. Jalaluddin Akbar, who reflected on how fasting teaches individuals not only to reconcile with the external world but also with the inner self.

There are two fears within human beings: fear and sorrow. Both arise from attachments within ourselves, whether to wealth, positions, or social status. These attachments act as ‘masks’ that have been placed upon us from an early age until now. While they may serve to position us within society, they can also obscure our authentic identity,” explained Ust. Jalaluddin Akbar.

These masks also have the potential to intensify our ego, making it more difficult for us to forgive others or open our hearts to those around us. Fasting teaches us to control our emotions, our hearts, and most importantly, our humanity—beginning with honesty within the heart. Cultivating piety during Ramadan essentially trains us to release the attachment of ‘everything belongs to me,’ so that we may become better human beings,” he continued.

The UNDIRA Berbagi Berkah 1447 H event also coincided with the official handover of the Kranggan Campus building by Mrs. Fadlun Umar, representing the Amri Jaya Foundation and the building owner, to Mr. Sagoro Dharmawan, Chairman of the Dian Asra Foundation. The handover was marked by the signing of an official memorandum of transfer for the Cibubur Kranggan Raya Campus of Universitas Dian Nusantara.

According to the message conveyed by Mrs. Fadlun Umar, the handover represents an important milestone and a hopeful step toward the 2026/2027 Academic Year, with the expectation that UNDIRA will continue to strengthen its role in empowering and serving the surrounding community.
