Digitalization and Growing Entrepreneurial Spirit Among Youth: UNDIRA Collaborates with GoTo Tbk to Give Business Class

Jakarta, June 28, 2025 — All roads lead to Rome, and in today’s era, entrepreneurship is one of the fundamental pillars that enables individuals to earn income beyond their main jobs or side hustles.

From renting out properties, launching food and beverage (FnB) businesses, to developing technology-based enterprises (technopreneurship) utilizing platforms like Shopee and Gojek—these opportunities are wide open for students to take their first steps toward building a sustainable venture. Moreover, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector continues to be the backbone of the national economy.

Recognizing this need, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) initiated a seminar titled “Entrepreneurship and Digital Finance Training Class”, in collaboration with GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. Held at the 6th Floor Auditorium, UNDIRA’s Tanjung Duren Campus, the event aimed to inspire the rise of young entrepreneurs by embedding a practical understanding of technology-based entrepreneurship.

The seminar featured key speakers from GoTo Tbk., including Mr. T. Mufizar, Public Policy and Government Affairs for the JABODETABEK Region, and Mrs. Dwinta Mayasari, S.E., M.M., a Facilitator for GoJek Wirausaha. The session was moderated by Mr. Eriklex Donald, S.E., M.M., Director of Innovation and Business Development at UNDIRA, alongside Mr. Luthfi Alhazami, S.E., M.M., MBKM Lecturer at UNDIRA.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Eriklex Donald emphasized the importance of students internalizing the intrinsic value of entrepreneurship."Students are not merely seekers of knowledge, but also creators of opportunities. By understanding the intrinsic values of entrepreneurship, they learn not only to work, but also to build and stand independently," he affirmed.

He further added, "Today, independence is no longer just an option—it’s a way to shape a brighter future, in line with UNDIRA's visionary principles. Through entrepreneurship, we’re not just creating opportunities, but also preparing a future that we can take charge of ourselves."

Echoing his sentiment, Mr. T. Mufizar highlighted the vital role of technology in democratizing access to entrepreneurship."In line with the digital transformation era we are currently experiencing, we believe the younger generation plays a crucial role in shaping a dynamic and inclusive business ecosystem. Modern technology has opened up extraordinary access for anyone to begin their entrepreneurial journey—even right from the palm of their hand," he explained. He pointed out platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Tokopedia as fertile grounds for digital entrepreneurship.

The seminar continued with a presentation from Mrs. Dwinta Mayasari, who offered practical strategies for launching and optimizing a business in today’s environment. She stressed the importance of market research and prudent financial planning."When setting prices, don’t rely on gut feelings to gain maximum profit from the start. Consider the market value and available opportunity costs—such as your existing inventory—to improve product quality before pricing," she advised.

She also noted that while big dreams are essential, they must be broken down into smaller, realistic steps.
"Even though everything starts with a dream, you must be able to break that dream down in order to prioritize what you need to start. If your dream is too big and isn’t broken into phases, the business won’t last. Remember—be consistent first," she continued.

In addition to being realistic, she emphasized the importance of implementing the ATM method (Observe, Imitate, and Modify) to foster innovation and establish strong business networks. According to her, many successful entrepreneurs started by observing and learning from existing businesses.

The seminar was met with enthusiastic responses from the students, who not only gained valuable entrepreneurial insights but also actively engaged in dynamic Q&A sessions. This interactive exchange underscored the growing entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation—especially when supported by institutions and industry players.

Through partnerships like this, UNDIRA hopes to produce graduates who are not only academically proficient but also fully equipped to thrive in the global entrepreneurial landscape.
