Celebrating the Rich Cultural Heritage and Youth Culture: UNDIRA Revives Cultural Emancipation Through NEBUKA Festival 2025

Saturday, April 26, 2025 – The spirit of creativity and innovation once again fills the beloved campus of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) at Tanjung Duren Campus, Grogol, West Jakarta. The Nusantara Cultural Expression and Action Festival Week (NEBUKA) returns, serving as an annual competition for the younger generation, organized by UNDIRA’s Student Affairs Bureau, offering exciting prizes that inspire the participants.
The Vice-Rector III of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Ir. Muhammad Hasanuddin Thoyieb, M.M., expressed his gratitude that, by the blessing of Allah SWT, NEBUKA has continued successfully since 2023. He also emphasized that NEBUKA initially emerged as a collaboration between five universities as part of a consortium partnership.
Beyond its organizational aspects, NEBUKA embodies a moment of camaraderie and synergy among the five universities involved. As a "Nusantara Festival," NEBUKA not only represents Universitas Dian Nusantara but also showcases the enthusiasm and determination of young generations through various competitions celebrating Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity.
Sagoro Dharmawan, Chairman of Dian Asra Foundation, shared his hope that NEBUKA Festival, which fosters positivity and competitive spirit among young generations, will continue for years to come.
"The most important thing is how we integrate the university’s values into every event. UNDIRA is built upon the principles of Visionary, Integrity, and Professionalism. Therefore, we hope that future NEBUKA events will maintain strong branding and uphold the spirit of fair play," said Sagoro Dharmawan.
The same sentiment was further emphasized by Anton Kurniawan, S.P., M.M., Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, who explained that NEBUKA is an annual festival held at UNDIRA. It includes various competitions open not only to university students but also to high school students.
"NEBUKA 2025 features competitions in Sports, Talent & Interest, and Cultural fields. NEBUKA is not limited to university students—we invite high school and vocational school students, as well as the general public, to participate. It’s an opportunity for them to showcase their talents in NEBUKA. We will select the best participants in this year’s festival," said Anton Kurniawan.
This year, NEBUKA Festival is even more vibrant than in previous years, featuring a wide range of competitions, including E-Sports (Mobile Legends Tournament), Singing Competition, Traditional Dance and Dance Competition, Quran Recitation (MTQ) Competition, and an Inter-University Debate Competition.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors who eagerly contributed to the festival’s smooth execution. Irgi Cahya Sutisna, President of UNDIRA’s Student Executive Board (BEM), expressed gratitude for the collaboration between various parties and the dedication of UNDIRA students who worked tirelessly as the event's organizing committee.
