Jakarta, March 8, 2025 – In an effort to share blessings and foster noble values during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Communication Science Student Association (HIMAKOM) of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) successfully organized a social activity titled ‘HIMAKOM UNDIRA Sharing,’ themed “Building Bridges of the Heart and Maximizing Positive Connections Through Media During Ramadan.”

Considering that technological accessibility has reached children at an early age, there is a need for education on the proper and responsible use of technology. On this occasion, the HIMAKOM UNDIRA team, led by Abitd Muhtadin, aimed to educate 11 orphans and underprivileged children from the Yauma Orphanage, located at Palmerah Asrama Yatim dan Dhu’afa, Jl. Kamboja No.88A 5, RT.4/RW.7, Kota Bambu Utara, Palmerah Subdistrict, West Jakarta.

The Chairman of HIMAKOM UNDIRA, Abitd Muhtadin, stated that this activity represents the students' care for the community, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan. "We want to share happiness and strengthen bonds. We also utilize social media to spread positive messages so that more people are inspired to share," he said.

In addition to delivering material on effective communication and the benefits of mass media as learning tools, the HIMAKOM team also organized interactive sessions, including games and Kahoot activities. These games were particularly effective in refreshing participants’ retention after the material presentation, with Kahoot notably helping to enhance the speed and accuracy of the participants.

Beyond theoretical material, participants were also provided with spiritual enrichment through a Seven-Minute Lecture (KULTUM), highlighting the essence and benefits of gratitude and self appreciation especially during these times where social media buzz is becoming the standards for society.

The activity received appreciation from various parties, including the UNDIRA academic community and local residents. In addition to raising awareness about the responsible use of technology in building positive connections, the sessions also emphasized the importance of disseminating accurate and reliable information in the digital era.
