Shaping Visionary, Integrity, and Professionalism: Impressions from UNDIRA’s Best Graduates at the 2nd Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2022/2023

Graduation marks the start of a new journey for the graduates of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA). At the 2024 Second Graduation, UNDIRA celebrated academic achievements while reinforcing the importance of commitment and determination to meet future challenges. UNDIRA’s Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, emphasized this message in his opening address, stating, "Graduation is not the end, but a stepping stone to face the future with readiness and confidence. Your future will be shaped by your own steps and efforts. Keep striving and never stop learning," he advised.
Prof. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc., Head of LLDikti Region III, DKI Jakarta, also underscored the dedication and sacrifices the graduates had shown in their academic journey. He encouraged the UNDIRA graduates to become agents of change who bring positive impact to society. "The role of students as agents of change must continue to be cultivated, especially in facing global challenges in this modern era," he remarked.
On this special occasion, two outstanding graduates, Rodika Utama from the Civil Engineering Program and Cristina Oktaviani from the Accounting Program, shared their inspiring experiences. Rodika, who achieved the highest GPA in Civil Engineering, expressed pride in taking on new challenges in a field vastly different from his previous background. "Learning in an area we haven't explored before is challenging, but that’s what enriches us as academics," he reflected.
Cristina, who also earned the highest GPA in Accounting, shared her experience of balancing a rigorous academic schedule with active participation in various campus activities. "Numerous challenges are no reason to stop but rather motivation to keep moving forward," she explained, emphasizing that hard work, discipline, and perseverance are key to her success.
In his valedictory address, Rodika Utama conveyed optimism, urging all graduates to be prepared to adapt amid rapid changes in the Industry 4.0 era. "As individuals in the Industry 4.0 era, we must be able to adapt quickly. It is within the storm that one grows stronger and more prepared to face challenges," he noted. Rodika also expressed deep gratitude to his family and close ones, acknowledging that the support from his family was crucial in his achievements. "I come from a humble background, and without their full support of my parents, I might not be here today," he added emotionally.
At the end of the ceremony, both Rodika and Cristina offered advice to UNDIRA students still pursuing their studies. They encouraged students to manage their time and embrace new challenges. "Always strive for self-improvement and don't be afraid to take on new challenges. As agents of change, our role is crucial in advancing research and development for the nation’s future," they stated, urging young generations to continue innovating and contributing to national progress.
The 2024 UNDIRA Second Graduation was not merely a celebration marking the end of education, but also a reflective moment for graduates to move forward with enthusiasm and responsibility. Graduates are expected to become positive change agents, not only for themselves but also for the broader society and the nation.
