Jakarta, September 23, 2024 – Good news has once again come from the Karate Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA). On September 22, 2024, three students from Universitas Dian Nusantara achieved victory at the karate tournament held at the Gymnasium of IPB Campus Dramaga, Bogor Regency, West Java. The tournament took place over three days, from September 20 to 22, 2024.

The tournament was organized by PENGCAB TI of Bogor Regency and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KEMENPORA) as part of the KEMENPORA Cup program. The event was open to students from various educational institutions, with Universitas Dian Nusantara being one of the universities that qualified for the final round.

Universitas Dian Nusantara has several Student Activity Units (UKM) that serve as extracurricular platforms for students to develop their interests, talents, and specific skills outside of the classroom. One of these is the Karate UKM, a branch of the university’s sports activities.

For this tournament, Universitas Dian Nusantara sent three of its best karate athletes as representatives of the Karate UKM, comprising two students from the Management Study Program and one student from the Communication Studies Program:

1. Andi Chesaria Nurrahmatia Samad (111231279 / Management)

2. Deby Valencia (111231406 / Management)

3. Tegar Adriansyah Satriadji (Communication Studies)

The competition consisted of two sessions based on two main components of Karate, a martial art originating from South Korea, namely Poomsae and Kyorugi. In this event, all three students successfully won bronze medals in two match sessions, Kumite and Kata, representing both Senior and Junior levels.

With this achievement, UNDIRA once again brought pride to its name in the IPB Cup competition. It is hoped that in the future, UNDIRA will continue to excel in sports and uphold its prestigious reputation, as instilled in the spirit of the students in the Karate UKM.
