Jakarta, September 10, 2024 – Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) and the Maskanul Huffadz Foundation officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the 3rd-floor meeting room, Tanjung Duren Campus, West Jakarta. The signing was attended by the founder of the Maskanul Huffadz Foundation, Dr. Hj. Oki Setiana Dewi, S.Hum., M.Pd., along with the Director of Human Resources and Development, Beny Arifin, SE., M.BA., and HR Development Staff, Rahmat Hidayat, S.IP.

From UNDIRA, the event was attended by the Rector of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, along with other university leaders, including Vice Rectors I, II, and III, the Director of Resources, the Chairperson of Dian Asra Foundation of Universitas Dian Nusantara, the Heads of the Cooperation Bureau, Student Affairs Bureau, and the English Literature Study Program.

The event began with a speech from Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, who emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a strategic step in supporting the development of Islamic education, especially abroad. He highlighted that Islamic education requires teachers not only proficient in religious knowledge but also skilled in foreign languages and other fields of study. According to him, this cooperation is not just an exchange of knowledge but also a means of strengthening the bond between the two institutions.

In her remarks, Dr. Hj. Oki Setiana Dewi, S.Hum., M.Pd., shared a brief history of the Maskanul Huffadz Foundation, established in September 2016 in Bintaro, South Tangerang. The foundation focuses on Islamic education, particularly Tahfidz Al-Qur'an. To date, the foundation has sent around 1,200 Tahfidz students to participate in various community service activities, both domestically and internationally, including in Japan, through the Dauroh Quran program.

The intensive program focuses on learning, understanding, and memorizing the Qur'an over a certain period. Dr. Oki also emphasized the importance of Tahfidz students having additional skills, particularly in languages, which will expand their opportunities in the global arena. For this reason, the Maskanul Huffadz Foundation has established partnerships with several universities to enhance the academic competencies of Tahfidz students.

As part of this collaboration, since 2019, UNDIRA has annually provided scholarship quotas for seven Tahfidz Al-Qur'an graduates from the Maskanul Huffadz Foundation to pursue studies in various available study programs, particularly in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, such as the English Literature Program, and in the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. However, the choice of study programs is not limited to these fields, and students are free to choose other programs according to their interests and talents. Due to distance and living cost constraints, Dr. Hj. Oki Setiana Dewi, S.Hum., M.Pd., advised students to take advantage of the evening classes offered by UNDIRA.

The signing of this MoU is expected to pave the way for more effective learning and provide broader opportunities for Tahfidz Al-Qur'an graduates from Maskanul Huffadz to pursue higher education at UNDIRA. The synergy between the two institutions is expected to support the development of knowledge and character, in line with their shared vision of producing competent, character-driven, and competitive graduates.
