Higher education is an advanced stage of learning following secondary education, encompassing diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, professional, and specialist programs. All of these are conducted by universities, with a focus on the cultural values of the Indonesian nation. With the upcoming new academic year, the implementation of the Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) at every university becomes a crucial event.
Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA), a private higher education institution under the auspices of LLDIKTI Region III, will hold its PKKMB for the 2024/2025 Academic Year under the theme “Hello Campus.” This event aims to prepare new students for the transition to adulthood and independence as university students. Moreover, it is designed to accelerate students’ adaptation to their new environment and equip them with the necessary tools for achieving success in their higher education journey. Prospective students will also be provided with an understanding of the university’s profile, including the faculties and study programs they will undertake during their studies.
Hello Campus for the 2024/2025 academic year will take place on September 2, 3, and 4, 2024. This event will be held in a hybrid format, catering to all prospective students of Universitas Dian Nusantara. The Hello Campus program is intended to equip new students with essential knowledge through a series of informative sessions. Topics to be covered include Character Building; Understanding the Higher Education System in Indonesia and the MBKM Program; Cultivating Student Character: Cultural Values, Ethics, and Manners in Campus Life; The Dangers of Plagiarism; National Identity and Defense Awareness; Developing a Growth Mindset and Career Preparation Towards Professionalism; The Five Pillars of Combating Deviant Behavior on Campus: Strategies to Prevent Bullying, Sexual Violence, Substance Abuse, and Corruption; Effective Financial Management: Basics of Student Welfare and Entrepreneurship; and an introduction to Student Organizations on Campus.
Additionally, students will receive an introduction to the various faculties and study programs offered at Universitas Dian Nusantara. The university comprises two faculties: the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, which includes the Management, Accounting, Communication Science, and English Literature programs; and the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, which encompasses the Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs. During this event, students will also be introduced to the structure of Universitas Dian Nusantara, such as the UNDIRA English Center and the Student Affairs Bureau, among others.
This curriculum is designed not only to familiarize students with academic aspects and campus life but also to instill moral values that are crucial for their contributions both on campus and in society.
Through the PKKMB or Hello Campus, students will be equipped to carry out the tridharma of higher education, ultimately becoming graduates with profound knowledge, noble character, love for their country, and competitiveness. It is hoped that the Hello Campus program, as a medium for introducing campus life at Universitas Dian Nusantara, will enable new students of the 2024/2025 academic year to pursue their studies effectively and implement the core values of UNDIRA—Visionary, Integrity, and Professionalism—to produce competitive graduates.
