UNDIRA collaboration with the National Battery Research Institute and Queen Mary University of London: Organise International Conference BTS & ICB-REV, FDG UK-Indonesia 2024 in Jakarta.

Dian Nusantara University in collaboration with the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) United Kingdom has successfully held the International Conference on Battery for Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles (ICB-REV) 2024 and the UK-Indonesia Focus Discussion Group (FDG), in conjunction with the Batavia Transdisciplinary Symposium (BTS) 2024 held at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia on 31 July 2024.
The BTS International Conference is an annual conference organised by the Research and Community Service Institute of Dian Nusantara University as a forum for researchers, especially lecturers and students of Dian Nusantara University, to present the results of the latest findings in their respective fields. Previous BTS activities have been successfully held in 2020 in Jakarta and 2022 in Yogyakarta. This year's BTS carries the theme Transdisciplinary Symposium (BTS) 2024 and is organised as a Hybrid.
While the ICB-REV International Conference is an annual conference organised by NBRI which has now entered its fourth year, to facilitate researchers and researchers both within and outside the country to present their latest discoveries in the realm of battery technology, renewable energy, electric vehicles and their ecosystems. The theme of this year's ICB-REV is "Advancing Clean Energy Solutions Towards Net Zero Emission". In addition to the International Conference NBRI also collaborated with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) to conduct a UK-Indonesia Focus Discussion Group (FDG) on the adoption of two-wheeled electric vehicles in Indonesia under the Queen Mary Impact Fund 2023-2024 programme. The forum presented a cross-stakeholder panelist related to the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia, as well as providing input on research results as a basis for policy formulation and roadmap.
This series of events has brought together more than 80 participants and 30 speakers, from 5 countries (Indonesia, UK, Germany, Australia, Malaysia). The event also received support from ThermoFisher Scientific and Harita Nickel as main sponsors, as well as supporting sponsors such as LSP EBTKE Indonesia, LSP Kimia Industri, RCMS, LSP Migas, and PT Lintas Kajima. Meanwhile, FDG UK-Indonesia is funded by Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
The conference was also attended by Prof. Evvy Kartini as Founder of NBRI and Dian Nusantara University leaders such as Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi as Rector of Dian Nusantara University, Ir. Margono Sugeng, M.Sc as Vice Rector I of Dian Nusantara University, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Hasanuddin Thoyieb, MM as Vice Rector III, and Dr. Ir. Muhammad Hanafi, MBA, IPU as Director of Research and Community Service Institute of Dian Nusantara University, along with other UNDIRA leaders.
In this conference, both BTS and ICB-REV have presented resource persons who are experts in their fields, namely Prof. Alan J Drew - Director of Material Research Institute, Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom, Prof. Vanessa Peterson as Senior Principal Research Scientist of Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, Australia, Prof. Dr. Eng, Eniya Listiani Dewi - Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia, Dr.Ir Muhammad Hanafi, M.B.A., IPU Director - LRPM UNDIRA & The Professional Expert of Resources & Economy.
Studies National Resilience Institute Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Anees Janee Ali, Associate Professor School of Management (SOM) University Sains Malaysia, and Prof. Dr.-ing Silke Christiansen - Head of Department: Correlative Microscopy and Material Data Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and System IKTS, Germany. And attended by UNDIRA Lecturers and Students to general participants.
"The biggest hope in the collaboration of conference activities between BTS and ICB-REV is to expand the network with fellow researchers from various institutions, so as to open up opportunities for collaboration in deeper research fields and from various cross-disciplines and improve the quality and relevance of the research produced." Said Prof Suharyadi as the Rector of UNDIRA in his speech.
In addition, Dr Ir, Muhammad Hanafi, MBA, IPU who is also the chief executive in this activity expressed his hope in this conference activity to improve the quality of lecturer and student publications and can be a motivation to continue to contribute to the world of research and have a positive impact on the development of science and technology.
