Student Executive Board Self-Development Forum: Building Character, Leadership and Organizational Skills

The Student Executive Board, known as BEM, is an organisation that plays an active role in student development, campus activities and community service through public outreach and education in order to support the principles of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. 

As an executive body in a campus, BEM has the responsibility of being the coordinator of various fields of activity that run on a campus. Organisational units that are gathered in order to provide support for the work programme include the BEM Faculty (BEM-F) and the Student Activity Unit (UKM). Through BEM's support for the two existing sub-units, it is hoped that the success of various productive and innovative activities such as; seminars, workshops, community service, and various student competitions and UMKM activities.

In the aspect of mentoring and monitoring of problems and aspiration rights that exist in the campus environment, a BEM is in charge of managing human resources in student affairs and each faculty to increase the role of BEM as a bridge between students and the rectorate or university in delivering various aspirations, complaints, or proposals from students.

Within the scope of Dian Nusantara University (UNDIRA), which has a total of 5,900 active students, UNDIRA has great potential in developing various visionary candidates. UNDIRA's organisational realm currently consists of 8 associations consisting of 2 students (HIMA) representing 2 faculties and 8 study programs and 10 Student Activity Units (UKM). 

In the near future, as an expression of democratic voting rights, Dian Nusantara University will hold an election for the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Dian Nusantara University Student Executive Board (BEM). On this occasion there will be two candidates in the number one pair, namely Raden Farhan Fajar Arofah and Dhea Mutiara Putri. 

Candidate number one focuses on developing an inclusive digital platform system to assist UNDIRA students in dealing with academic and personal issues related to the scope of the university in order to produce students who not only excel globally in academics, but also excel in solidarity and characterisation. 

In the camp of the number two pair consisting of Irgi Cahya Sutisna and Chantika Aryanti Putry. Through the programs run by the number two camp, the candidates are determined to open up opportunities for students to practice cross-organisation coaching and collaboration, BEM will help increase the visibility and positive contributions of student organisations, both inside and outside the campus environment. BEM will facilitate activities such as leadership training, entrepreneurship seminars, and collaborative projects between departments. This is expected to foster a spirit of innovation, networking, creativity and leadership skills for students.

With the general election day approaching on 20 July 2024, it is an opportunity for students to express their voting rights for the advancement of the Dian Nusantara University campus. Through this election, all campus ecosystems will take a new direction, all units such as the BEM Formation Task Force, the Student Election Commission (KPUM), and the Student General Supervisory Board (BAPERA) will play a role in the democratic process of forming BEM. This election will be a historic moment for all UNDIRA students.
