UNDIRA Pencak Silat Goes International! UNDIRA Student Clinches Medal at the Silat Championship Open 2026 in Malaysia
Jakarta, June 25, 2026 — "Dreams are fundamentally what keep us going, but it is through sheer determination that we rise to new heights every single day." These words resonate deeply with Ridho Ramadhan, a Management student at Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) and the finest representative of UNDIRA's Pencak Silat Student Activity Unit (UKM), who successfully claimed a gold medal at the prestigious international pencak silat competition, the Penang Juniors International Silat Championship 2026, held in Penang, Malaysia on June 21, 2026.
The Penang Juniors International Silat Championship 2026 is a competitive tournament organized by the International Pencak Silat Federation (PESILAT), established to nurture young martial arts athletes — not only to uphold the sportsmanship and artistry of pencak silat, but also to instill the courage to compete on a global stage.
More than 200 participants from various countries and representative institutions took part in this prestigious event, cementing the Penang Juniors International Silat Championship as one of the largest junior pencak silat tournaments in Southeast Asia.
Amid fierce competition featuring the finest young athletes from across the globe, Ridho Ramadhan performed with unwavering determination and composure, putting to use every technique refined through years of dedicated training.
The defining moment arrived when Ridho overcame his opponent in the final round with an impressive display of skill, securing first place and a gold medal in the Fighter category (G), and proudly bringing honor to UNDIRA's name on the international stage.
Ridho himself acknowledged that the road to the podium was far from easy. Intensive daily training, countless sacrifices of time and energy, and the wholehearted support of his family, coaches, and the entire UNDIRA academic community formed the solid foundation that carried him to this achievement. "I want to prove that Indonesian students — especially my fellow UNDIRA peers — that excellence is not confined to academics alone, but also in how fiercely and wholeheartedly we pursue our passions," said Ridho, visibly moved.
The Rector of Universitas Dian Nusantara, Prof. Dr. H. Suharyadi, M.S., also extended his appreciation for Ridho's remarkable achievement, affirming that this victory marks the beginning of a greater journey — one that inspires every member of the UNDIRA community to grow, push beyond their limits, and strive to become their best selves.
Ridho Ramadhan's triumph on foreign soil sends a resounding message and serves as a powerful reminder that in building the life we aspire to and becoming the best version of ourselves, discipline and dedication will always bear their finest fruit.

Looking ahead, UNDIRA's Pencak Silat UKM remains firmly committed to sustaining this milestone across future competitions, ensuring that every UNDIRA student with a passion for martial arts has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Together we triumph — UNDIRA! Onward, onward, onward!
