The existence of a system network necessitates optimal data organization and management to ensure integration and ease of access for users, anywhere and anytime. Addressing this need, Cloud Computing solutions were established, with Cloudflare being one of the most prominent examples.

For context, Cloudflare is an entity that provides Cloud Computing services. It is involved not only in storing data but also in managing it in a structured manner through Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Serverless Computing (Cloudflare Workers), Object Storage (R2), and Domain Name Servers (DNS) across separate servers globally.

Furthermore, Cloudflare is responsible for securing a majority of applications and websites against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and other unwanted forms of hacking. In short, thanks to Cloudflare's Cloud-Based System solutions, various devices can now operate efficiently without requiring excessive storage space or relying on a single centralized point.

Recently, there have been reports regarding disruptions to Cloudflare services, which inevitably caused access issues for several applications such as Canva and ChatGPT, as well as the majority of websites utilizing Cloudflare's Cloud-Based Server systems. Other impacted sectors included Cloud-Based Gaming platforms like Valorant and League of Legends, which rely on Cloud Computing networks to store and download player data.

According to Mr. Giri Purnama, S.Pd., M.Kom., Director of Technology and Information and a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA), it is important to note that this disruption affected user access to target applications or websites—specifically related to the DNS Proxy feature widely used by domain managers, such as undira.ac.id which was also affected—rather than the actual computation processes of AI models or the websites themselves.

He further explained that other impacts felt by users included slow site loading speeds due to congestion at the origin server. In worst-case scenarios, servers became completely inaccessible, resulting in Error 5xx messages. This was caused by the Content Delivery Network (CDN) failing to function optimally.

Understanding Cloud-Based Technology has become essential knowledge for everyone today, especially as we move towards Industry and Society 5.0, which focuses on centralization and integrative technology use. The occurrence of technical issues in Cloud Computing serves as a reminder for IT experts to move beyond merely optimizing system performance, and to also create sustainable innovations in information management systems.

In response to the growing interest in IT, data science, computer science, and network management, the Informatics Engineering Study Program at Universitas Dian Nusantara (TI UNDIRA) positions itself as a hub for developing digital talent. The program prioritizes competency mastery to prepare UNDIRA students to face industrial challenges by the year 2030.

Informatics Engineering at UNDIRA holds a vision for developing integrated cloud-based network systems. It is supported by a curriculum that facilitates the mastery of Network Telecommunications through a Network Engineer concentration, targeting intensive in-depth study of network infrastructure construction, cloud computing, and Outcome-Based Study Projects (Capstone Projects) focused on network design and management.
