UTM Malaysia and UNDIRA Strengthen Academic Collaboration through the Signing of a Letter of Intent

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - In order to enhance the quality of education in line with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education program, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) has established a partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in the form of Letter of Intent (LoI) Signing. The signing of LoI coincided with the National Coordination Meeting (RAKORNAS) of Computer Science and Informatics in Indonesia, held at Hotel Santika, Medan, from October 24 to 26, during the Indonesian Association of Higher Education in Informatics and Computers (APTIKOM) event.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Mohd Nasir bin Wan Kadir, and Ms. Bias Yulisa Geni S.Kom., M.Kom., representing and serving as the Secretary of the Informatics Engineering Study Program at UNDIRA.

Through the LoI signing, several collaborative agreements were established between the two universities. Opportunities that were proposed and agreed upon include; the implementation of Community Service Activities (PkM), development of research programs and Collaborative Studies, and a Student Exchange Programme.

As a result of the collaboration and motivation in scientific and technological research, as well as the increasing demand for computerization efficiency and its application, through this LoI, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) also invited UNDIRA to participate in a WEBINAR titled “Terahertz Technology for Future Wireless Communications and Biomedical Application” on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2:30 Malaysian Standard Time (MST).

The WEBINAR will focus on the development of wireless communication technology research in the medical field, featuring one of the lecturers and Head of the Electrical Engineering Study Program at UNDIRA, Dr. Arie Pangesti Aji, as the speaker.

The active participation of both universities in conducting the collaborative WEBINAR is a concrete manifestation of academic cooperation synergy. By featuring speakers from UNDIRA and UTM, this activity not only strengthens the relationship between the two institutions but also makes a significant contribution to the development of science and technology. It is hoped that this collaboration will continue and have a broad positive impact on education, research, and technology development at both regional and international levels.
