Optimizing Digitalization and Network Management: FTI Students of UNDIRA Upgrade their Data Knowledge

Jakarta, December 14, 2024 – The world races forward at a speed of 29.78 km/s, truly embodying the saying "the future is now." Technological development has become a critical focus for humanity, supporting daily activities in countless ways. As an institution grounded in science and technology, Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA) recognizes the importance of technological mastery and data management for the younger generation. To address this need, UNDIRA’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics hosted a guest lecture titled “Advancing IT Infrastructure: Network Optimization, Database Management, Security, and Emerging Technology Trends” at its Tanjung Duren campus.
The Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at Universitas Dian Nusantara, Mrs. Anita Ratnasari, S.Kom., M.Kom., expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of 300 students in the event. She highlighted that UNDIRA's recent achievement of "Excellent" accreditation by BAN-PT, along with the Faculty's success in the Indonesia Chatbot competition hosted by Terra AI, should serve as a catalyst for innovation, particularly among FTI students.
Mrs. Anita also explain that as future agents of change in Indonesia’s technology sector, students play a strategic role in mastering cutting-edge developments, driving innovative solutions, and contributing meaningfully to the nation's progress in today’s dynamic digital era. With insights from guest speakers Mr. Bayu Satria Setiadi, S.T.I., and Mr. Linggar Dedi Kurniawan, S.Kom., students gained a deeper understanding of IT development and programming intricacies.
Mr. Bayu Satria Setiadi shared insights into brief explanation of data management, emphasizing, “In database and information system development, no single solution perfectly solves all types of problems. The right choice depends on user-specific requirements and considerations critical to success.” He also underscored the foundational role of security in data storage and management, explaining that security prevents unauthorized access and modifications, safeguarding system integrity. He elaborated on the ACID principles (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability), essential for database management to ensure safe and consistent transactions.
Mr. Linggar Dedi Kurniawan, S.Kom., followed with a discussion on the significance of modern IT infrastructure. He emphasized that the evolving era demands not only speed but also accessibility, making cloud-based IT infrastructure a priority in programming. Cloud-Based Data Management (CBDM) has revolutionized IT infrastructure by enabling data and applications to be accessed from anywhere with internet connectivity, fostering flexibility, mobility, and operational cost savings. This infrastructure supports seamless collaboration and can be tailored to organizational needs, whether centralized (monolithic) or decentralized (microservices-based).
"The future of data will be unified, flexible, and accessible,", Said Mr. Bayu Satria Setiadi through his presentation. With enhanced practical skills and advanced data management expertise, students of UNDIRA’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics are poised to open new doors for technological innovation in Indonesia, transforming bold concepts into reality.
