Jakarta, August 31, 2026 — Language and storytelling are more than simply conveying a story or an idea. They are also about how the way we communicate can shape emotions, spark reflection, and create meaningful connections with an audience. This was demonstrated by a student from the English Literature Study Program at Universitas Dian Nusantara (UNDIRA), who recently achieved an impressive result in the Inter-University English Competition, TECOMP 2026, held by Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia from July 23 to August 20, 2026.

Carrying the theme “Bridging Ideas Through Language,” the competition attracted enthusiastic participation from students across Indonesia, ranging from high school to university level. The event provided participants with a platform to showcase their creativity and English language skills through various competition categories, including storytelling, newscasting, and creative video.

Camila Merilouisie Marsi, a student from the English Literature Study Program, participated in the English Storytelling category. Through her performance, Camila brought her narrative to life while building an emotional connection with the audience. Her compelling delivery earned her Second Place in TECOMP 2026, adding another achievement to the growing list of accomplishments by UNDIRA students.

This achievement marks an important milestone for the English Literature Study Program at UNDIRA. It demonstrates that learning English goes beyond memorizing vocabulary or mastering grammar. It also involves understanding how literature can bring the richness of language, diction, and storytelling to life in the modern era while providing a meaningful medium for human creativity and self-expression.

The achievement was also supported by the guidance and preparation provided by Ms. Maya Sekartaji, M.Hum., as Camila’s academic advisor, and Mr. Todo Sibuea, M.Hum., Head of the English Literature Study Program at UNDIRA, who accompanied and supported the students throughout the competition.
